The temple is well maintained and there is a very smooth flow of pilgrims to have the darshan of lord Muruga.

Whoevr plans to travel to marudhamalai from far off places must ensure that they have their cabs booked for the return journey also.

The Wi-Fi connectivity gets lost completely and there will be no cell phone towers to make a cab booking.

No other mode of transport is available except a lousy government bus where are you charged 10 rupees per head but fill a 40 seater bus with 400 people.

The drive is precariously dangerous and it's a spine chilling experience.

Even at the foot of the hill no cab aggregators are available.

Please be careful with the guy who issues that 10 rupees ticket for the bus journey

He is ruthless and all the norms of covid-19 protocols is thrown to the winds.

Marudhamalai temple is an old temple atop the Marudamalai Hills.

Marudamalai temple is a dedicated to Lord Murugan.

Temple trust is operating special bus to reach the temple, and buses are available at the foothills. Beautiful view of coimbatore city can be seen from the top.

We had a nice darshan of deity as fewer people are there during our visit.

People visit all the temples, this temple is very good and very old Murugan Temple. Nice steps to walk up and down. No monkeys disturbing the people. Restaurants around the temple are average.

There are lot of changes now on Marudhamalai. The temple is situated on the hill. There are steps and also road for bikes and cars. You almost feel like Pazhamudhircholai. The traditional "kottu" music will fire you up internally and externally. Do not miss to visit Pampatti sithar cave near the temple.

The temple is relatively clean for India, and if you have a car, it's 30 rupees to buy ab ticket to drive up to the car park next to the temple. We tonsured our 14 month old. Separate tonsuring room next to the car park with about 5 stations, and it costs 10 rupees officially, plus about 50-100 rupees tip. The room itself was quite chaotic with screaming children, noise and not the most hygenic. But the barber was professional and super quick and we left with just one tiny nick on our 14 month old's scalp, relatively drama free. I'd recommend some YouTube cartoon videos or book to keep your child calm and steady during the process.

You can drive up to the parking lot at a height of 1500ft. Thereafter, you will have to climb up the steps (about 250 steps). There are two sets of stairs. One which is easier on the left side and the new one which is tougher on the right side. On a sunny day, the steps on the right get very hot and could burn your feet. However, the one on the left side is covered and hence cooler on the feet. However, the stairs on the right side offer an excellant view from the top.
