Access to temple from the roads way down was by entering a controlled entry where we paid 30rupees to allow our car up to the parking closer to the temple ground. As we entered the temple premises there was a volunteer to guide us on which way to proceed. We took time to view all the shrines in the premises and as we reached ip fromt it was time for the mid day pooja. The temple drums and bells started their rhythmic prelude to be accompanied by chants of devotees ptesent at the time.
It was an heavenly experience that had to be experienced in person depending on the depth of ones worship.

Winding road up the hill drowns you in that spirituality and gets you into religious fervour. Once you reach the top, the stairs up to the sanctorum satisfies you. Darshan of the Lord relieves you of all anguish, pain and uncertainty. Great feeling, great atmosphere. Must visit.

is a blissful experience. Once you reach atop you are rewarded with majestic views of Coimbatore city, and a temple that is serene and beautifully maintained. A wonderful experience one must experience while in Coimbatore. The temple’s 1300 year history is a testament to ancient Bharat’s culture and unbroken quest for mukti.

This temple was popularised in the 80s by the movie DEIVAM. After 23 years we went to this temple . The temple dedicate to Lord Muruga has been renovated in recent years. Have to climb up about 30odd steps . At the side of the aathi Murugan temple there are steps leading down to the samadhi of “paampaati sithar”. One can sit and meditate here. Only problem Is we have to clim back up the same way. worth a visit . This temple is on the Guruvayur to Coimbatore road.

Dedicated to Lord Murugan or Subramanya, this temple situated on a hill top is one of the must see places if you are in Coimbatore.
One can reach the top of the hill by climbing the steps or by road -though you need to still climb around 70-80 steps after that.
The temple and its surroundings are kept clean and there was ample parking space -as there were no special celebration or festivities.
The temple opens around 6.00 am , closes around 1.00 pm and reopens around 2.00 pm and closes for the day by 8.30 pm.
Not much fine dining options around. If you are not particular on ambiance or don't mind the local cuisine, there are few small eateries near the entrance which leads to the hill.
We had our lunch in one of the small eateries run by a group of women. The place was quite clean and hygienic and the food was good.

This Temple was at a drive of 30 Minutes from Hotel Heritage Inn. There are around 700 Steps to be climbed to reach the temple. There is also a road, which goes right up to the temple,. wherein one needs to climb around 50 steps or so.
I took the stairs and it took me around 30 minutes to climb. The views are worth wathcing while climbing. No hassles/problems from any animals during the climb. The temple is a mid sized one. There is also a temple of Pambatti Sitthar near the temple. Its also a must visit temple.

An extraordinary experience of the healing of body and soul. Giving thanks to the Lord by carrying kavady in my home city of Durban. Travelled by car to the hilltop. Good parking facility. No rush like other temples. Courteous priests and officials. Tasty adhirsam and sweet pongal at the bottom of the stairs. A most uplifting and spiritual experience. I must return to give thanks for the restoration of good health.

Yesterday 5.3.21 visited the temple. Fine atmosphere. Good darshan of Lord Murugan. Not much crowd.Own vehicles and mini buses go upto top . From their we have to climb around 100 plus steps steep but not continuous. Mobile tower signal is difficult. . Due to Corona Archana are not done in all temples. We can visit Esha Shiva temple from there.

I dont think we can book in advance, however you can get the token/ticket without any difficulty, at the temple itself directly.
