The temple gives a very calm and serene vibe once u enter. The naagapoo tree there was told to be hundereds of years old. The temple holds functions now and then including Patti mandrams and speeches . Parking is quite difficult since it's literally on the streets . If u r in two wheeler and in town hall for shopping please do visit

This is a Hindu temple dedicated to Goddess 'Koniamman' and is located near Town hall, in Coimbatore, in the state of Tamilnadu, India.

The temple is on the southern side of the main city.

Koniamman is the guardian deity of this place. After the end of the Irula rule, one Ilangosar became the ruler of the place when a Chera king invaded the city.To prevent his march, Ilangosar built a fort and a tall mud space, installed the Amman as the guardian deity, the Amman is worshiped as Koniamman.

The temple dates back to 16th century A.D.

A 84 feet (26 m) Rajagopuram was completed in 2011, making it a landmark for the Coimbatore city.

The Navagrahas grace the temple with their respective consorts.
This is the only temple that celebrates car festival.

Powerful Amman Temple of Coimbatore
Jan 2019 • Solo
This Temple is situated right in the heart of the city..
Very near to the Town hall of Coimbatore..
You could see a very tall Rajagopuram at the entrance of the temple (it is recently constructed)..

Neatly maintained and poojas are done here in the right time.. So, you could feel yourselves better after having Darshan and prayers here..

This Temple has a history of more than 500 years.. The main deity is Koniamman..

The Temple complex is vast..

Said to be the Guardian Amman of Coimbatore city..

We were here on a Wednesday. Not a great crowd. Had a nice dharshan. Temple was clean. It is surprising to see such a big temple right on the road in a busy area.
