- Shalini SNew Delhi, India491 contributionsDelightful experienceLocated on an island in lake Pichola, this is a ‘must visit’ place. One has to board a boat from city palace jetty, which takes one along the shoreline, allowing one to admire the city and its heritage sites. After a pleasant boat ride, one reaches Jagmandir, which has a hotel and a restaurant. It is a very picturesque site, surrounded by water. There are beautiful palace gardens where one can relax while admiring the city’s shoreline. The restaurant serves food and drinks, although the prices are a bit steep yet the location makes it worthwhile. Worth visiting in the evening so that one can admire the sunset on the boat ride in lake PicholaVisited October 2023Traveled soloWritten November 16, 2023
- ARS_1114Jebel Ali, United Arab Emirates364 contributionsExceptional dinner in a stunning property. We visited the restaurant for a family dinner. The food was delicious with good choices of authentic Rajasthani dishes on the menu. Chicken tikka, dal, aloo sabzi, bhindi, kamal kakdi chaat and all other dishes were very well prepared. All the staff were very polite, friendly and respectful. The whole experience from the boat ride to the property to its decor was amazing. It’s a must do!Visited November 2023Traveled with familyWritten November 21, 2023
- vip_foodieBengaluru, India3,555 contributionsNice place amidst the Pichola LakeEntry to Jagmandir is via boat ride through City Palace. Cost to enter the City Palace is 30 bucks and the boat ride to Jagmandir costs 500 bucks for to and fro journey. The boat ride costs 800 bucks later in evening after 2-3 PM. The boat leaves every 1 hour from City Palace and while coming back there is a ride every 30 mins. The boat ride is quite beautiful where you witness many scenic views. Jagmandir is situated in the middle of the lake and has a good history. It has multiple courtyards, lawns, a small museum and the restaurant. You can spend time at Jagmandir at your own pace and then come back to City Palace where you can do other activities like the Museum, Crystal Gallery.Visited October 2023Traveled soloWritten November 24, 2023

- Janka KBrno, Czech Republic8,722 contributionsHave a drink while you are waiting for your ride back to the shoreThis is a stop on a boat ride at the lake Pichola. You need to get off from the boat and then wait for another. You can have a drink at this island, and also visit a small museum in one of the palace's buildings. Unless you get for that drink, the waiting time for the next boat might be passing very slowly here. No ticket for the place itself, nor for the museum at the place, is needed, or at least I didn't pay anything extra than the price for the boat ride.Visited November 2023Traveled with friendsWritten February 18, 2024

The coffee was good, but I think the employees at the cafe were a bit overwhelmed with customers. It was a lovely day, so the stop was extra nice.Visited February 2024Traveled with friendsWritten February 26, 2024

We were served by Piyush and he was the perfect host. Beautiful food in a beautiful setting. We felt like royalty. - shweBp14Mumbai, India86 contributionsPretty place on the lakeThe boat ride to Jagmandir is really pleasant and filled with beautiful views of Udaipur City and setting sun ( we took a sunset boat). Jagmandir palace itself is beautiful but not much to do the except clicking really good picture. The cafes in premises so not have a huge menu.. just basics .. that is one thing that can be improved a lot. Over all a must visit though.Visited April 2024Traveled as a coupleWritten July 1, 2024

Tour boats with dozens of people take you over there for a 20 minute stop to go pee for 50 rupees. Apart from armies of gora (white people) there is really nothing to experience. The boats drops you off then go back to take the next batch, pick you up when you they come back again, not enough time even for coffee. We rented an individual boat (2 people) for 7,000 rupees, same BS, nicer pics though a no other tourists block the view.

Spent some quite relaxed time with friends once we reached Jagmandir by boat after City Palace Museum tour. We could spend as much time as we wanted and enjoy the cool breeze of lake. What a marvel our ancestors have created, this island has few old items like doli (carrier) in display. The entire place is whtle in colour, from Elephant idols welcoming you to the floor to the walls. Ideal place to laze around after a long walk at City Palace Museum tour.

Nothing interesting. Very basic plantation and garden in the center of lake pichola. The boat ride takes to you there and after roaming around clicking puctures you can catch a boat back to City palace. The ticket counter is at the second gate of city palace. The ticket costs around 800 rs for adult plus 30 rs for ecessing the small backyard area. Also most of the payment they prefer cash. The sunset looks more gorgeous from Lake pichola or Jagmandir. They have restaurant also in Jagmandir for small bites.

There is nothing to do there and manager and wait staff in the restaurant is so rude.i went there on Nov 23 I had ordered one tea and coffee the bill was 413 rs so I gave my card and after entering pin it showed as rejected so I gave them another card and it got accepted. After 2min I realized that both my cars got charged so I went and asked them one who claimed to be a manager there came and spoke to me said that even if my 1st card got charged it would not have been received by the instead it will be refunded by the bank so I said show me the transaction history so if I didn't get refunded from bank I have some proof. manager is so rude that he said by removing his purse from his pocket and said he will pay instead we got into a bit of a argument and I did wanted to spoile my day so I walked off so started shooting saying come here and and talk it is the worst experience I had here .even though I got a refund from bank I was just asking for transaction history to double check. And I talked to some other manager on call but to no response from them I have proof of all this. So the hotel is pretty expensive and dirty wait staff and manager there is pretty rude and not worth a boat trip of 800 per person instead one can enjoy boat ride elsewhere in the city and museum there is very dirty and smelly and full of rat poop.

A beautiful monument in midst of the lake opposite the city palace.... the boats ferry the visitors from the palace side to the jag mandir and back.
The boats keep the traffic moving and are always at the pick up points every 15 minutes.
The interiors are lovely with
sprawling gardens and good
chill out spots... with the restaurant also present and one
can rest and enjoy a drink.
The facade to the monument is intriguing with elephant sculptures welcoming the visitors.

Took a boat ride from inside City Palace around 1pm. Ticket price was around 300-400 but increases in the evening.
Takes around 15 minutes to reach the palace after getting views of Lake Pichhola.
You can spend an hour on the island if just want to visit.
There is a restaurant which costs about 1180 Rs. for a lunch buffet for a single person.
Offers perfect views of the lake and has a beautiful palace, the perfect spots for clicking pictures.
The return boat comes every 15 minutes and you can exit the drop spot from inside the city palace or move towards Karni Mata temple

Really nice to take a trip on the boat around the lake after having walked the streets for the week. A nice new perspective of the lakeside town. While there are a lot of tourists, it goes without saying that this is a beautiful place to hang out with a drink at the restaurant or lying in the grass in the gardens. Not much else to do there but we really enjoyed ourselves

I went to Jadmandir with my wife and 4 year old daughter. 1st I went only for sightseeing through HRH Group boating. The place was so beautiful n full of nature that we thought of coming again next day for dinner. We pre booked the table 1 day before. We reached in time at 7pm so that we get the best of table with panoramic views of lake pichola. The restaurant manager was kind enough to make us sit on our choice of table. He explained us about all the dishes we enquired and suggested which ones to go for. Believe me the food was excellent. This is a property for good taste buds along with good panoramic views of the lake. I suggest one should make it a point to have a dinner once during the stay at Udaipur.

Hi. Is Jag mandir open for dinner around 8 or 9Pm?
Cost of dinner for 02 people?
Written December 4, 2021
All the boat charges were included in 2500 of dinner cost. If u book a table for dinner then the two way boat ride is complimentary. One day before I booked the table near city palace jag mandir’s ticket window. Initially they took 2000 as booking. After dinner my bill was around 2500 so I had to pay 500 more. If your bill is less than 2000 then your money doesn’t get refunded. 2000 is minimum u have to shell out for dinner at jag mandir.

Is the ticket valid for the whole day? Meaning if I take the ride at 11am, can I stay on till 6pm?
Written November 6, 2019
Not sure about the validity. The ferry monopoly is quite strong.

Is a night stay worth a spend at Jagmandir or one can experience it essence and beauty during day/ sunset visit to Jagmandir?
Do they charge for boat ride even if you are staying in the hotel.
Written July 26, 2019
I think it is better to go for sunset. It is a touristy place bit noisy and crowded.you won’t find peace there. People come and go , I don’t think it is a nice idea to stay there.

Hi...there is any other public boat beside boat from City place? To go inside the jag mandir island need to buy ticket or free? Because I read on City palace, ticket for boat ride morning time is 450 rupee and ticket to jag mandir is 35 rupee.

where to get boat to jagmandir ??
do we need to go & come back with same boat or it is like ferry boat for every hours ?
how much time required to get Jagmandir from city palace ??
400 Rs cost is just boating cost or it includes city palace entry fee too ??
Written December 13, 2017
Hey Prashant,
You'll get the ticket near the cafeteria situated outside the main entry gate of city palace and from the other side of palace as well where you may park your vehicle as well.
No, there are number of boats available every hour. So, you may spent some time there.
Its just a 5-7 mins ride,, they cover the full pichora lake,,
And, it is just jag mandir entry fee with boat ride only. You have to buy city palace entry ticket separately.
