An authentic, wholesome, learning experience you'll feel good about supporting
Upon visiting Pacific Art in Udaipur, I had the pleasure of immersing myself in a Miniature painting lesson. Jeetu, our teacher for the day, was the embodiment of genuine passion and authenticity. His amiable demeanor and evident love for the craft contrasted sharply with other galleries that, at times, seemed more interested in commercial gains than in the art itself. Jeetu's approach to teaching was both calming and enlightening. Despite my initial apprehensions about the class, he guided us seamlessly through the foundational steps, ensuring that even beginners felt at ease. It was during this time that I gained a profound appreciation for the meticulous nature of this art form. The delicacy required, the fine lines, the subtlety – Jeetu and Naresh's mastery shone through every lesson. The duo's commitment to authenticity extended beyond just teaching. They took the time to educate us about the materials involved, such as stone paints and squirrel-tail brushes. In a refreshing turn of events, they were candid about the manufacturing process – an honesty that I found rare and deeply valued. One aspect that truly resonated with me was their non-aggressive approach to sales. After the class, they displayed their artwork without pressuring us into purchases. Having been privy to the intricate processes and the immense skill behind each piece, I found myself genuinely appreciating the value of their work. Our time at Pacific Art was not just about the art; it was a heartfelt experience. We shared stories, indulged in laughter, and I felt the session transform into a meditative journey for me. It was not just a transaction; it was a connection. Jeetu, in particular, felt less like an instructor by the end and more like a kindred spirit in the realm of art appreciation. I wholeheartedly recommend Pacific Art to both seasoned artists and casual admirers alike. In a world teeming with commercialized pursuits, it's artisans like Jeetu and Naresh that remind us of the genuine heart and soul behind every brushstroke. Their integrity, talent, and dedication deserve not just recognition but also widespread support. Joining me in this experience were my wife and a close friend, both of whom echo my sentiments and share my newfound appreciation for this beautiful art form. If you're ever in Udaipur, don't miss out on this treasure trove of talent and authenticity. Do support what they're doing.
Thank you for your detailed review and very kind words. It was our pleasure to meet you and show you our art. We are so happy to hear that you enjoyed your visit to Pacific Art and hope to see you again one day. Namaste 🙏

    Authentic and Traditional Miniature Art
My partner and I stopped by at Pacific Art Udaipur after having a conversation with Naresh this summer. Later on we also met his brother Jeetu and got to see him while painting miniatures. He patiently told us about the natural dyes they use while creating their art. Such a lovely place to visit if you want to meet local miniature artists and see some authentic art. We had a great time (and a cup of homemade tea :)) and learned more about figures from and stories about the miniatures. I would recommend visiting if you are interested in traditional art and want to have a conversation with the artists.
Thank you for your kind review. We are so happy that you enjoyed your visit to Pacific Art. It was our pleasure to meet you and hope to see you again. Namaste 🙏

    Great paintings and experience
We have been looking for a nice souvenir from India. After being approached on the street, we went to Pacific Art and Naresh showed us many miniature paintings and explained to us the differences in quality and techniques used. It was a pleasure talking to Naresh. As we did not find comparable work on the market, we bought a painting made by his brother and are very happy with it. Pacific Art is a very personal experience and we are very satisfied with getting a souvenir whose origin we know.
Thank you for your kind words. We are so happy that you enjoyed your visit to Pacific Art and hope that you enjoy your painting for the years to come. Namaste 🙏

    Paintings from the artists
Over the last 3 days we have wandered past this shop, occasionally going in to look at their lovely paintings. Today, our last we went in and they were having lunch, squatting on the floor, and they asked us to join them. We had a lovely, home cooked lunch and then bought this painting of Lord Ganesha, which we had chosen the day before, to take home. We loved this little shop where there is no pressure to buy and the owners take endless care to show you their art. It’s away from the hustle bustle of the commercial, tourist shops and well worth a visit.
Thank you for your kind review. It was our pleasure to meet you and we hope that you enjoy your painting in the years to come. Namaste 🙏

Explore the back streets beyond the tourist drag.
I was looking for a quality piece of local art, but became suspicious of sellers on the tourist route pedalling the same stuff. I found Pacific Art away from the busy areas, mesmerised by one brother painting on the front step. I went inside had an explanation of the different levels of quality and found the piece for me. The bartering was as lively as ever and I have come away very happy. Good luck to the brothers, I know they will do well.

    Exceptional hospitality
Our experience at this art gallery, thanks to Naresh was wonderful. We were there for a friend's wedding and Naresh's assistance made our visit memorable. Him and his brother didn't just help us to create an incredible painting as a present to our friends; he also crafted a personalized painting of us, which was a beautiful gesture. Naresh's knowledge of Udaipur was a great bonus. He guided us around the city, showing us places we would have never found on our own. He was our go-to person for everything, from finding a tailor to arranging transport, always reliable and ready to help. We're genuinely looking forward to our next visit. Not only to see the new art collections but also to catch up with Naresh and his brother. Their professionalism and kindness are rare and truly appreciated.

Amazing place with beautiful paintings. One of the top art places we visited during our trip to Udaipur. Highly recommend visiting this place if you are really interested in Rajasthani art and culture. We bought a few paintings and would love to come back in future.

    Highlight of Udaipur
Exceptional Experience! Visiting Jeethu and his brother was the highlight of our family holiday to India. As the IT industry grows in India, increasingly more young Indians are relocating to cities to find jobs, while leaving cottages industries that have sustained generations of their families. The Yadav family has maintained their family’s traditional painting style. Our family of four, spent nearly 3 hours learning the intricacies hair brush painting and learning about local history. We also bought several exquisite items for our home and friends. Ask Jeethu to show some of their masterpieces and don’t leave without seeing his grandfather’s wall sized painting! A few suggestions for your experience at Pacific Art. 1. Communicate directly with Pacific Art by email of WhatsApp for an art lesson. Jeethu is very responsive. He will guide to the store. 2. The Pacific Art store is directly behind the Leela Palace Udaipur Hotel. Consider having lunch there before or after visiting Pacific Art.
Thank you so much for your very kind review. We are really happy that you enjoyed your visit and painting class at Pacific Art. It was our pleasure to meet you and hope to see you again. Namaste 🙏

Beautiful authentic artwork made by friendly local artists
Naresh and Jeetu are amazing 4th generation master artists in Udaipur. We learned so much about their artistic process, the cultural significance behind their work, and even about Udaipur in general as Naresh went above and beyond to show us around. Purchasing artwork here supports 12 local artists directly (rather than business men who often sell artists work in Udaipur). Their miniatures artwork is stunning and the detail is unmatched! We are so happy to have their beautiful, meaningful work in our home.
Thank you for your kind review. We really appreciate your feedback and are very happy that you enjoyed your visit to Pacific Art. It was very nice to meet you and hope to see you again. Namaste 🙏

We happened upon this shop by chance after meeting Naresh by the lake, and decided to visit it the next day. Naresh very kindly explained the process of painting and the differences in quality between authentic paintings and those sold on the main street. Naresh and his brother were very welcoming, honest and passionate about their artwork and produced stunning paintings with incredible detail. It is well worth going a little bit off the main drag and paying a visit to this shop, even just to have a chat to the two brothers.

A little away from all the high pressure - ‘I painted all these paintings myself madam’ area of Udaipur is Pacific Art - elder brother Naresh who was taught by his father and younger brother Jitendra who was taught by Naresh.
We didn’t have a class we just enjoyed hearing about the history and techniques used to produce such beautiful works.
One of which now looks gorgeous on our dining room wall.

The lovely brothers looked after us for an afternoon of learning about Rajastani Miniature Paintings, demonstrating key techniques and helping us do each do a painting. We learned about the mineral pigments and brushes. We enjoyed the excellent Chai Masala and hospitality! This was a really authentic and enjoyable experience and is highly recommended! Thank you so much!

Naresh is very knowledgeable about Indian art and was extremely friendly. He offers Indian painting lessons as well as having a retail art shop, where he sells paintings from local artisans at very reasonable prices.

Thanks for you time Naresh.

After 9 days of searching in the market
we found a small shop of artists not on the main road, the name is "Pacific Art" .
Naresh and Jitu are 4 generation of artists, A family of authentic artists who pass the knowledge from generation to generation, and preserve this authentic art.

After a long explanation about the raw materials and the whole process, we realized that we would find the highest quality in this place,
and also get great service and experience and most of all really amazing art.

These people are lovely and entered our hearts
Highly recommend a visit to there.

We happened to visit Jeetu Ji's art studio by chance while roaming around in the old city. He welcomed us with tea and introduced us to a unique art form. He was very polite and let us watch while he was painting and later showcased many of his and his family's beautiful works over the time. We also tried our hands at the brush and painting (using stone colours) which can be used for a long time without refilling. We also bought a painting which now hangs nicely in our living room all the way in Germany!! What a nice souvenir. This art form is precious and needs to be supported. All the best Jeetu ji and thank you for this wonderful experience! 😊

We visited the family run Pacific Art shop when we were in Udaipur a few years ago (not July 23 as it says as we had to tick a box!) and bought several pictures to take home as gifts (and for ourselves too) - which we then had to carry around India for the next fortnight! But it was worth it as the paintings are absolutely splendid, so clever and detailed, and we love them as did all those we gave them to as gifts. We stayed in touch with the family throughout lockdown and still WhatsApp regularly - they are all so nice and we would definitely visit (and buy!) again if we return to Udaipur. Such craftsmanship and such beautiful work and lovely people. Recommended highly.
