Even though it was a Saturday, found parking space (public parking), just next to the lake. The best part was there was no parking charges. You can walk around the lake or sit on the stone walls around the periphery of the lake. There are many street food stalls (actually too many) and an option for (speed) boating. The Lake - Its Beautiful as expected. I was there in the evening. so the sunset behind the hills and skies lit in orange made it a beautiful sight. The road along the lake has some lovely Street Food options - Vad Pav, Cold Coffee etc.
However, if you are planning to drive there, let me warn you that parking is a nightmare. It seemed like entire Udaipur (if not India) had descended to the lake in the evening. Be mentally and physically prepared to walk at least a few hundred meters (if not a kilometer) before you can get to the happening spots on the lake.
The speed boat ride is worth giving a try, but you can get to the short 2 min ride only after battling a long queue, which defies COVID completely.
The place is a breeding ground for COVID. I sincerely hope that Masks and Sanitizer was good enough to protect me ... :)

Sai Sagar is a hustling bustling spot opposite the beautiful lake. Scooters, bikes and cars come in constantly and families, friend alight for drinks ( hot and cold beverages) and snacks.
We selected from the menu’s First time in Udaipur section. The hot saffron coffee served in Kullars was an interesting discovery. The first sip was a little different, after that with each sip it got better. All too quickly it finished. The special garlic toasts were dripping in cheese. In fact the melted cheese layer was fatter than the bread it was served up on.
The oregano and chilli flakes were mild, ask for more if you prefer spicier.
We also tried the hot cappuccino and cold coffee with ice cream, it can collectively take on Starbucks!
On a cold afternoon there’s breeze with a bite. You sit by the road in the lap of the big mother tree facing the lake. Le magnifique’

Fateh Sagar Lake is situated in Udaipur It is an artificial lake named after Maharana Fateh Singh of Udaipur and Mewar, constructed north-west of Udaipur.
Lake is very beautiful and well maintained , one can spend evening time there.
For Street Food lovers one can get best food over here at a stall situated.
Boat riding in the evening makes it more memorable.
Total coverage of lake is 4-5 kms which can give feel of long drive.

Fateh Sagar lake is situated about 5 Kms from Udaipur Bus station and is a artificial lake of 4 Sq Km area and a shore length of 8.5 km. It was constructed in the 1680's and situated North -West of Udaipur to the north of Lake Pichola and named after Maharana Fateh Singh of Udaipur and Mewar.It is one of the four lakes in Udaipur city the other three being Lake Pichola , Udai Sagar lake and Dhebar lake.There are numerous stalls situated at a certain section of the lake circumference and lunch was " Paav/ Bhaji"along with cold juice. From my restaurant stall it was a beautiful view of the lake in hot sunshine and surprisingly very heavy winds.Did some bird watching and spotted a few ducks. There are three small islands within Lake Fateh Sagar of which the largest island Nehru Park is a popular tourist attraction. The second island houses a public park with a water jet fountain while the third island houses the "Udaipur Solar Observatory". All these islands are approachable by boats from boat jetty's situated at different locations along the circumference of the lake . Camel and tonga horse rides is a popular activity along the circumference of the lake which has a winding road along its entire circumference with a protective boundary wall along the lake shoreline. Due to "Covid-19 Pandemic" these tourist island were closed to the common public and only boat rides on the lake was permitted. Every year the "Hariyali Amavasya Mela( Green New Moon Fair)" is held on the lake's precincts in the month of Shravan ( August/September).

This lake deserves a 5 star rating considering the location, the beauty, the cleanliness, eateries, and many other factors. The lake is really beautiful and is very peaceful especially in the mornings. You can take a stroll around or take a cycle ride. You can opt for boating, although little expensive at Rs. 300 per head, but it is good for kids and elders. There are lots of food joints and one can enjoy various dishes. Its a must visit.
Pro-tip: Try doodh firni or kulhad chai near the lake, its delicious especially in the cold winter evenings. You can also hire cycles from mybik which is located just at the start of the road parallel to the lake.

So, usually when we travel to any other location , we visited to mall road for evening for local feel, Here you have this Fateh Sagar Lake with nice evening view with different kind of snacks available on the road itself. Very well management of traffic as by night the crowd is at its maximum. The wind and waves make it more beautiful. We had the speed boat ride (3 mins)there which is again a different kind of experience. Folks can also try horse and camel riding.This is also a local joint of udaipur.Can visit at night when at Udaipur

Another great lake from the city of lakes (Lake Pichola is prettier though). We took a evening boat ride to Nehru garden which is a little island in the middle of this huge lake. Beautiful views, opportunity to take some brilliant pictures and enjoy street food on the bank.

Fateh Sagar lake was just okay compared to Lake Pichola. But, you can have quite different activities in Fateh Sagar Lake. You can go normal boating, speed boating, camel ride, horse ride, and there are food stalls along the entire road of the lake.
It would be like a picnic spot for families. If you have gone boat ride in Lake Pichola then we would suggest you try speed boating in Fateh Sagar lake. Though it is only a 2 or 3-minute ride, it will be a whole new experience.

This waterbody has something soulful.
Plenty of serenity,soothing breeze,calmness and yet so much lively.
Can do boat rides, rafting,swimming and indeed you can just keep watching its beauty for eternity.
The whole perimeter of this lake is around 8.5 kms. One must take a morning walk by the lakeside for sure.
Other end of the lake has an elaborate street food stretch. But cleanliness is observed next morning with no filth and litter around the streets.
Don’t miss. It’s an eye candy for sure.

Fateh Sagar Lake is an artificial lake situated in Udaipur. The place seems to be a popular tourists spot and always hustling and bustling, especially in the evening. While visiting Fateh Sagar lake, we opted for speed boat ride @ Rs. 260 per pax, one speed boat carried 6 travelers. The ride was for around 5 minutes and enjoyable under cool breeze. The lakeside has several street foods stalls. Seems parking also available at the lake side, as noted several 2 and 4 wheelers parked at the lakeside road. Overall, an active place for family outing and munching.
