Interesting to see all the activity around the lake with the people bathing, washing cloths, clearing out the green foliage. Boat trip to other side of lake and viewing other palaces and hotels.

The air in Udaipur is pretty gross, but if you can handle it, or if you have a gas mask, a boat ride on the lake is really nice.

After a good monsoon the lake was full. There were lovely reflections and it lived up to its claim of being the Venice of the East. We loved the sunset boat ride.

You need to do a boat ride on this lake to get to Jagmandir Palace but also youget to see the daily like on the banks. people doing their washing, swimming etc. Nice and relaxing

Sorry I am unable to help with this question either. Didn’t stay in budget hotel and hired a guide and car. Hope you get some responses here, Be sure to ask on the udaipur forum.

Hire taxi for full day will cost you Rs.1400/- in 5-6 hrs you can visit all the local famous spots of Udaipur ,next day again hire taxi that will cover 3 places out of Udaipur.Keep in mind that on first day reach city palace... More
