Lake Badi, situated in Udaipur city in the Indian state of Rajasthan, is an artificial fresh water lake. The lake was built in the village of Badi, about 12 km from the city of Udaipur, by Maharana Raj Singh I to counteract the devastating effects of a famine. He named it Jiyan Sagar after his mother Jana Devi.
Area: 155 km²
Length: 180 m
Width: 18 m
Location: Udaipur, Rajasthan
Fish: Putitor mahseer
Cities: Udaipur
The highlight of the lake is a small hill called āBahubaliā. It is a must visit when in Udaipur. The view from the hill is so mesmerising that it is difficult to believe such a place exists in India, let alone Udaipur. To reach the hill, take the right turn from Badi lake (there are only two diversions as soon as you reach Badi Lake where you have to take the right steep way) and after moving a few meters on the way you will encounter another diversion with a board reading āSilence Resortā. Stay on the same path and keep moving, after a few meters on a gravel road, you will find a small tin shop. This is where you can park your vehicle. There is a small 20 mins trek up the hill to the viewing point. Once you reach the top, you can enjoy the 180 degree view of Badi Lake itās surrounding. You will also find a small stall on top selling water, pakoras and of course Maggi.
The entry is free of cost but there is one uncle who will charge you 10-20 bucks for keeping an eye on your vehicle. It is preferred that you have your own vehicle, since the viewing point is little bit in the interiors. Avoid taking kids on the top of the hill as the hill is a little rough and may not be kid friendly. It is a must visit when in Udaipur

Badi Lake is located approximately 10km from Udaipur city towards Badi village. It is really peaceful and a picnic spot for youngsters as well. However suggest avoiding swimming in the lake as it is home to a few crocodiles.

So whenever you are in udaipur then definitely visit the bahuballi hill. It is about 15 km away from main city located near badi lake.so take a scooty on rent and cover this mismerizing beauty of udaipur where u found the amazing view. So when you reached the parking station of bahuballi hill and after trekking for 15-20 min you would reached the peak of the mountains. From there you saw a beautiful lake with different mountains some small, somw big. Theres also a small shop where you buy some food n snacks, cigrate for smooker and many more. This is the perfect place for photographer lover. I can spend a lot of time. Saw my pic from bahuballi udaipur ,hope you like it.,š

Not so far away from Udaipur city, just 10 Kms from Fateh Sagar, is this beautiful hidden gem called Badi Lake (named after the village Badi). A medium sized lake, the beauty lies in it being located in total unspoilt nature with no markets or entertainment around. A small park is made along the dam but walking along the lake on the road with hardly any traffic is very pleasurable. Another great option is to climb on the adjacent small hills and the views of the lake on one side and the other mountain ranges on the other side are a great sight. Badi Lake is also advertised as a hot spot for Mahseer fish, although I don't know much about it. But once can often see fishermen in small boats active there.
