although the main attraction of this park is the tiger sighting, one has to be disappointed a lot as most of the times the tiger is unseen. the crocodiles and other animals like different kind of deers are all seen easily, different birds too are...More

Well maybe a bit of an exaggeration, but it was pretty high on my list. We went out for 2 safaris on the one day. Saw a total of 5 tigers, crocodiles, heaps of deer, birds including an owl family, an antelope, many monkeys, and...More

Yea I mean it when I say it needs an attention from government forest officers . We booked safari through our resort and it was current booking in canter zone 4. The afternoon safari was supposed to start by 2.30 but the canter itself came...More

Away from the crazy crowd in Delhi and Agra - this was a real oasis. Sadly we did not see any of the 60 tigers but did see leopards and fascinating wildlife. The views from the top are magnificent

Highly knowledgeable guide tracked down the tigress(T60) and her three cubs. The morning trip was a frantic dash to find the tigers and it was all worth it as it culminated in a sighting. Only 20 -30% of Safaris include an encounter with a tiger....More

A safari is best done in a Gypsy that seats 6 people and a guide. There are 20 seat Canter vehicles available but these have limitations on some trails and are not very comfortable. A friendly and knowledgeable guide makes for a memorable experience. We...More

This is a beautiful area with an abundance of wildlife. There are even wild tigers. We saw a female and her 3 cubs on one of our safaris. Totally unfazed by our ( at least 4 cantors and 3 jeeps) presence. It is certainly worth...More

For a world famous tourist attraction, this is an extremely poorly managed operation. For starters there is no official online booking facility offered, also no rate card displayed on the website, which was a bit puzzling. But the reason for that became clear once we...More

Saw tigers in zone 1 and 3 up close and 10 feet away on both our safaris. It was a combination of luck, good guide who tracked them and patience.

I know you said mornings were best, we plan to be there mid Feb, As per usual, the options are a morning safari or afternoon safari, 1/2 day safari and full day safari? Would you imagine it to be physically taxing to be out in a jeep on dirt roads all day? We are sturdy people but if we went all day and didn't see a single tiger, I'd be miffed. On the flip side, I'm thinking that if we did a whole day jeep tour, there might be fewer jeeps in the park mid day when most return to drop off their hotel guests. Secondly, sine we are scheduled to be in Ranthambore in February, so for the purpose of taking photos, would the lighting be better in the early morning or late afternoon? Do tigers typically sleep at certain times of the day? Lastly, is it worth it to let the swanky hotel schedule the tiger safari in their proprietary jeeps designed with better shocks which in theory are more comfortable but come at a hefty price? Sorry for so many questions. Katherine
