Downhill mountain bike heaven!

This is not a place or sport for the timid, but if you have some experience you will love the challenge and variety at this small resort!

This was my first time at Angel Fire after hearing rave reviews from other riders here in Texas and I wasn't disappointed. There was plenty of variety of trails ( and well marked), helpful lift staff, and the bike shop was top notch. I was surprised by the pricing of equipment ( though I didn't need any) as it wasn't... Angel Fire is very beautiful. We love playing golf and the course is always in great shape. Do not recommend staying in Lodge during summer.

Huge variety of lift accessed technical trails for the serious mountain biker. Super helpful bike shop at the base of the lift. Not really for novices. Unfortunately on the day the kids wanted to use the children activities at the base of the lift they were closed.

Hi Craig! Thank you for your review. It may have been weather or event related closure for the kid's activities. We are a serious MTB Park. We open sooner than almost everyone else and have a long season. We are developing the first of it's kind feature based learning area for first timers using our conveyor lift and have many... More

I visited Angel Fire during the summer for a professional workshop and enjoyed the remote location and beautiful countryside. However, because I was there for business, the lack of reliable wi-fi was kind of a problem. I was staying in one of the "Lift" condos and some had wi-fi while others (such as mine) did not. The main lodge did... More

First trip to Angel Fire. We went specifically to do the bike park. Family of 5. 1 Spartan Warrior trained athlete, 1 overweight mom who runs but hasn't been on a mountain bike in 15+ years. 3 13-year-old boys. First, they strong-armed us to pay for extra protective gear like shin and elbow pads and chest plate. $75 extra. Hello,... More

If you're in the area and looking for a great adventure, zip line is a must-do! Awesome scenery, great lines. Make sure you are aware of the weight requirements before you go. There is a bit of hiking involved from one line to the next but not bad. We had a group of 4 and it took about 90 mins... More

The scenic beauty is awesome and we did the snow tubing and my son loved it. There is plenty of parking, food and outdoor activities for whole day. Also it is easy accessible place. I would suggest this place for winter but good place for all season,

Lovely mountainous surrounding but not much to do unless you are a mt. biker, hiker or golfer. Resort rooms are nice, staff very friendly. I wouldn't drive out of my way to stay there in the summertime. Only 2 decent restaurants in the resort. Viet Nam memorial nearby is well worth the visit.

Dear Travelbunny, Thank you for your review. Certainly Angel Fire is a great place to golf and is a mecca for hikers and bikers....but there are many other things to do during the summer! Fishing, scenic chair rides, tennis, stand up paddle boarding, shopping and sight seeing....but the biggest draw for many southwestern visitors is the cool mountain air and... More

Absolutely unpleasant experience and treatment. Finished half tour and cxld due to lightning. They refused to let us reschedule or use refund on other resort. We were given gift certificate that was mailed. Not helpful when we are 10 hours away. Never go there again.

SkiSchoolDirector, Manager at Angel Fire Resort, responded to this review

Dear Tank, This seems unusual and not how we typically handle lightning holds or cancellations. This can occur during the summer during the later tours of the day which is why we encourage reservations for the earliest tours (starting 7:30 usually) and why we caution later tours that this may happen. It is a standard policy depending on at what... More
