I have been visiting this Devine place since 1987. More than 30 years this place remains same....peaceful, Devine, graceful . The actual temple is a cave where one can also see mothers pad chinh. The darshan of devine deity gives you peace, prosperity and fulfills all your wishes. Do visit when in Jodhpur, you will come back again for her blessing.

If u have came to Jodhpur & not paid ur visit to this holy Temple than your Jodhpur visit is incomplete. The Calm n Beautiful face of the Deity will give u eternal peace & serenity.
The Location of the Temple is in Natural Hills & near to lake. It is so calm & peaceful that one may decide to stay there only. As u step in the Temple area u will find a strong positive vibe which may end all ur anxieties & negativity of life.

In Karsa Mandi, there is a temple of Maa Santoshi famous as "Prakat Santoshi Mata ka Mandir". As per Myth, Maa Santoshi is the Daughter of Lord Ganesha. Maa Santoshi is one form of Mahamaya (Maa Durga). In Kaliyug, Maa Santoshi pleases quickly and gives wealth, boon, peace and Santosh (Contentment) to every devotee. Friday is the day of Maa Santoshi. At this place, Maa Santoshi has given Prakat Darshan to one of his devotee about 40 years ago. After that prakat darshan, a film was made "Jai Santoshi Maa" which was quite popular. Must visit for every religious person.

Santoshi Mata or Santoshi Maa means "the Mother of Satisfaction”. She is a popular goddess among Indian women folk, particularly in North India and Nepal. With a fond hope of fulfilling their desired objects or to get boon from goddess Santoshi Maa the women perform a vrata (ritual fast) in her name for 16 consecutive Fridays, strictly in accordance with the ritualistic rules.
It may be surprising to note that Goddess Santoshi Mata is the recent discovery in the history of Hindu gods and goddesses. Her name is the latest entry in the list of goddesses so to say from 1960s. Santoshi Maa has become a cult which has spread initially through word of mouth. There were circulations about the vrata by means of vrata-pamphlet literature and poster in several parts of the country. But since 1975 because of the film titled ‘Jai Santoshi Maa’ or "Hail to Santoshi Maa" she became more and more popular throughout the country. As per the story narrated in that film she is said to be the daughter of Lord Ganesha. The filmy story tagged her name to the Raksha Bandhan festival, which is the festival for sister to tie Rakhi to the hands of brother and the brother would give her some presentation by way of cash or other gifts. On that it is funny to observe in the college campus certain boys running away from certain girls to escape the Rakhi because they have developed certain sinister ideas about such girls and not prepared to accept them as sisters.
The film ‘Jai Santoshi Maa’ was the cause for the newly emerged cult and thereafter ‘ Santoshi Maa’ became popular among all the women in India irrespective of religion, caste or region. In several houses every Friday is observed as ‘Santoshi Maa’ Pooja day.
‘Lal Sagar Lake’ is a very old and famous lake in Jodhpur. It is surrounded by mountains. We find a natural and ancient temple of Santoshi Maa on a mountain here. It is believed that she has been fulfilling the desires of all her devotees. The temple is in the midst of varieties of trees. This is said to be world class age old natural shrine with incredible speciality. The mountain is elevated on Santoshi Maa temple as though the Lord Sheshanag is giving shadow to goddess by raising his hoods in seven heads.
There is an Amrit Kunda close to temple where an old tree stands in the shape of Lord Sheshanag. We may see lovely waterfalls near that tree. There we find an idol of Lord Shiva. As a result of fulfilling wishes of many devotees, this temple has gained fame.
On entering the temple gate you will be in the maim hall. On your left there is a tree whose stem is covered by saffron colour thread. I saw some women holding the thread and going round the tree in clockwise direction until the thread exhausted. They have taken a vow for doing so on getting their prayer fulfilled by mother Santoshi Maa. In the sanctum the life size image of Mother Goddess is seated. Her face is so lovely that one will not move further until pushed by someone. The glittering jewels are attr4active. The nose ring resembles that of my late mother and that caused me to shed tears remembering my mother, who left me long ago. There are footsteps of the goddess, one is full size foot print and other is partial. Everyone takes darshan of the foot prints of the mother. Any way I can never forget my Mother and Mother Goddess Santoshi Maa.
The way to Santoshi Mata Temple is very easy and simple. You can reach to the temple by foot or by vehicle. There is no difficulty for one to reach the Pragat Santoshi Mata Temple from Jodhpur Airport (9 km), Jodhpur Railway Station (8 km) and Bus stand (6 km) The visitors may reach Krishi Mandi Circle (Mandore Mandi Circle) by city buses and then the temple. You may also note that on every Friday, free bus service is provided from Krishi Mandir Circle (Mandore Mandi Circle) to Pragat Santoshi Mata Temple in order to facilitate the Devotees.
You can reach Jodhpur by Air, Train and bus. There are hotels and restaurants to provide tasty food and accommodation of your choice matching to the weight of your valet. There are eating-places where you can order for Indian, Chinese, Continental and Mughlai cuisine. You may taste the famous Kachouri (a snack eaten with chutney). If you love sweet eat laddoos, specially made to melt as soon as you put it into your mouth. You will love to drink buttermilk in tall glass, which is called as 'lassi', of which you may be familiar with.
