Very expensive for not Indians (500 rupee, 5 times more than foe Indians) for what is offered. The audio guide is kot avaliable because of Covid (we don't understand why). Thus, you only enter to an empty building, where there is absolutely no explanation about it. Of the audio guisde is kot avaliable, I would not recommend to pay the entry.

It is a run-of-mill Museum Palace, with a few artefacts thrown in. The museum did not have electricity when we went to visit ( 13 Jan23)- even the standby generator was not switched on despite repeated requests. We were told to use our camera flash and see!!

Fort has seperate residential area for Maharaja (the King) & Maharani (the Queen).
Maharaja palace has bed room, a room with throne, a open area where king sits with his cabinet, a museum having dresses, beds, swords etc. You can see a dreess worn by one of the king who was 7.5 feet height & 4 feet width.

The palace is inside the fort and is maintained well. The museum tries to provide you more information about the life of the Maharaja family.

While in the fort precincts, gaze up and marvel at the outsides of this palace (now converted into a museum), which has intricate carvings, and the pigeons resting in the ornate recesses adds to the charm of this palace. Thus, it is sure to arouse the photographer in you.

It has a long narrow flight of steps to be climbed and on each floor you will come across the beautiful artefacts carefully preserved. It showcases the lavish and grand rooms like the King’s bedroom, the audience room, the ladies room, etc. From the terrace of the palace, be enchanted by the bird’s eye-view of the golden city of Jaisalmer.

Other than the Jain temples this is the only place worth visiting inside the Fort. Its well maintained and if you like your history you will enjoy this place as it is full of history, lots to read and think about.

So, India increased the entries for foreigners to visit their monuments and you are wondering if this thing worth the money. DO NOT GET IN. You are going to waste your time and money. You can get better views and photos from the outside. We have visited a lot of palaces in the forts in India and this one has nothing interesting in it. Even our kids found it boring (and they like visiting palaces).
