The Second of Four Gates of Jaisalmer Fort

The Gates are iconic and without any entry fee. Only the King's Court and Queens residences have nominal charges. The scenic beauty is iconic and must visit.

This gate is second gate when you enter Jaisalmer Fort. "Suraj Pol" is written on the gate. The upper part of the gate is quite beautiful. You can also Idol of Ganesha on the to of this gate, which is considered auspicious as per Hindu Religion.

They are crowded and shared between tourists, locals, motorbikes and tuk tuks and livestock.... and of course horn beeping... which can be deafening inside the gate sections as they can be 8 to 20 metres long... depending on... This is probably the largest gate, Each of the next three seem to get narrower and narrower as you climb steadily up to the Fort proper. Go carefully through the next three as cars, bikes, motorcycles, taxis. jeeps, rickshaws cattle, dogs and people all try to go both ways through the narrow gates all at the same time. Each gate... This is just the main entrance to the fort and there is not really much else to say about it. There are many touts and rickshaw drivers looking for business so beware.
