We went to offer another unique experience to our kids but there was not much staff to attend tourist like us.
There is an entrance ticket of Rs.50/- for kids above 5 years and adults. Once you enter you are pretty much on you own.
According to staffers we met there, there are around 300 camels in the institute which go for grazing every day in the morning and come back by 3 PM.
So if you want to see the complete lot then you should reach the institute around 3 PM , in case if you have to visit early then you can still see around 50-60 camels in different enclosures.
Camels rides are offered along with some products made of camel milk.
Can visit if you are with kids in Bikaner on a tourist mode.

The museum has exhibits on ecology including camel food and products using camel hair. Camel milk and camel milk ice cream are available at the shop near the entrance. Camel milk products are available in reasonable price and these are very tasty.

The reasearch centre is located on the Jodhpur by pass road. The entry free is very nominal. There is a museum inside the centre which gives an insight into different type of camels, uses of camels and various products manufactured utilising camel. The institute also offers a short camel ride of 5-10 min for Rs.100 for which the tickets can be purchased at the Entry Gate. There are about 300 camels in the research centre. Those interested can also buy camel product souvenirs like purse, bangles, earrings, blankets, shawls etc from shops inside the complex. The camel cafe offers you camel milk, icecream & other products which are very unique. The flip side is that there was no one to guide us. The research centre is well laid out and well planned it would be better that guided tours are organised or brochures be given to tourists for more value addition. A recommended visit with school going children.

We expected much more of this center. The museum tou visit it in literally 5 minutes and there is very little information. When we arrived nobody was avaliable at the place of the Camel milk products. Afterwards we could try them, if we pay for them of course, and again we did not get much information about it. We could see camels but there was no guide, only some information panels. Quite disappointing

Having read a bit about the benefits of camel milk I was looking forward to visiting the camel centre. A short twenty min drive from Bikaner city centre, this vast sand duned Government undertaking needs a dose of imagination, will and a bit of TLC to make it more interesting for visitors. How about a Camel 🐪 Cafe? Instead kulfis and packets of flavoured milk are handed out thru a window grill with no place to sit comfortably and savour it. The camel leather and camel wool scarves and shawls should have a spacious place designated to showcase them and entice interested customers. Camels are curious, delightful creatures. We humans need to do a bit more justice in showcasing them.

This place is a must visit if you want to learn more about ship of the desert- Camel. They have over 350 camels at the center of different breeds. They offer camel safari which we couldn't do as it was closed due to Covid. This place also has a mini museum with details on different camel breeds and different types of products made from camel milk, skin and bones. They also have a milk parlour which serves Kulfi, coffee, tea, ice cream made from Camel milk. Definitely try the Kesar Kulfi. Camels are really friendly animals and they respond to voices and visitors very quickly by moving their head in the direction of voice source.

If you want to try camel milk and camel milk kulfi, this is the place to go. We went because of the children in the group. Due to covid, there wete no other tourists. We roamed around the center to see the young camels. We were able to go up really close to some of the camels. We thought only the kids would enjoy but everyone in the group had fun while learning. There is a museum which gives history of types of camels and what goods are made from their skin, bones etc. They also have shops selling camel skin belts and other souvenir items.

This place is located on the outskirts of the city and it focuses on research, breeding and development of camels. There are several camels in the complex which is spread over a big area. There is a small museum where products made from camel skin, camel bones are in display. There is also a cafe where tea, coffee, ice-cream and kulfi made of camel milk is available. Visit this unique place if you are in Bikaner.

The National Research Centre on Camel could be so much more interesting if there was a little more interaction. As it stands now, it's like visiting a Zoo : quick walk through and look from behind the fence. Really disappointing.
Upon exit, there's a small outlet where, theoretically, you can buy camel products to sample. The time of my visit, they had one (ONE !) small pouch with milk left . . .
This could ,and should, be a major tourist attraction.

This is one of a kind place. Check the timings before going. I guess it opens in the afternoon only. I am from Rajasthan and have seen camels before but never have seen so many camels together at one place. It was also reasonably managed inspite of being a government institution. I tasted camel milk, camel milk Lassi and Kulfi. The sweet lassi tasted as if someone had added salt to sweet Lassi. The staff explained that camel milk is quite salty and hence the taste. You must try the products for the experience. The camel ride was the topping on the cake. It's not easy to ride a camel and you will feel afraid of falling down but again you must do it for the experience. All in all a must visit place specially if you have young children.
