There is nothing to see here except the shows that they have at an interval of 2 hour.Check the language of the show before you buy tickets. Not an important part of the itinerary.

i will rate only good rating. though by way of planetarium its good but a lot of improvement is needed. There is a good park but needs maintenance. The science models displayed in the park are not functioning.

I have been to this place many while being a kid. However taking the kid and watching them enjoy this place is a amazing thing. I also watched many school kids enjoy the show.
Also the audio visual show off the celestial bodies is a treat for adults also.Special shows are arranged during full solar eclipse, comets view and other such celestial events

This is one of the better planetariums in our country as compared to BITM, Kolkata or Birla Planetarium in Kolkata or Science City 3D shows. The shows are upto date & give a realistic feeling. It seems as if you are actually moving through the planets or the Pyramids of Egypt that too without a 3D glass. Conducted tours will note take you there. You have to arrange it separately. You can also visit Natural history Museum next door & Regional Science Park 500 Mtrs away. Its located at Acharya Vihar & can be approached via Jayadev Vihar or Vani Vihar.

Well, the place is actually named after the famous astrologer Pathani Samanta. Its run by the Government of Odisha.
Very poorly maintained.
But you can have an average knowledge of the stars atleast.
Good place for kids.
But be prepared for bed bugs because the last time I had been I was bitten by one.
dont also forget the have a look at the prehistory park near it.
Its quite reachable via all means like auto-rickshaw and town buses.
Wishing you a good time.

The planetarium is conveniently located by public transport on the Acharya vihar cross roads.
Check the timings. They have shows in Hindi and English only in the afternoons. English show is at 1600 hours.

Useful and understandable to kids above 8-10 years, as they have video show of 20-30 min in 3-4 language including Hindi and English at different timings in a day.

The show at the planetarium was really done well, it was about discovering what is beyond the edge of our solar system. A good half hour show for INR 25. I think the London Planetarium is about £25 now but probably last about 60 minutes
