The Dhauligiri Hills are famous for the Shanti Stupa or Peace Monument first constructed by great Emperor Ashoka as a mark of Buddhist message for worldwide peace. A nice serene place for meditation and silence therapy.

I went there on a school excursion trip last year and I saw many idols of Lord Buddha........ In fact this is the place from where the Buddhism got spread in many different countries.

Worth the drive but be prepared for traffic snarls and throngs of people making a pilgrimage. This is where the first Indian emperor converted to Buddhism and issued his famous edicts. He remains beloved in a country largely constituted of Hindus and Muslims.

We went in a group. It has Budha stupa. More than a temple, it is famous for natural beauty around the temple is really good. Way to stupa is also good.

Nice place to visit during late afternoon. Now a days they have started a light show in the evening. So you can enjoy that too.
