I must begin with a word of thanks to Mr Francois Gautier, for all his hard work in creating this museum.

This place is simply long overdue, and to be frank - this place only represents the beginning in the long journey that India and Indians must take to recognise the brutal facts of their own history, which has unfortunately dismissed, denied and belittled over so many years.

This place will make your blood boil, but will hopefully be an important step in learning from the past, so that history will not be repeated.

If his Holiness the Dalai Lama can visit this place, then so can every Indian.

Please spread the word.

A must visit place for all Bharatiyaas who like to read true raw history of India n Chatrapathi Sivaji Maharaj. This is an private museum hence they are able to provide the true history. Wish Govt n public funds them so that the future generation is aware of our roots. Govt museums will not have these kind of honest history.
Location is abit away from the city but taxis are available. If you are really interested in History then be prepared to spend atleast 3-4 hours here. Worth spending every mintute.

This museum is nice with much history of Maharashtra and Marathas. They have preserved many old monuments nicely and very helpful for future generations to learn the history. It is still another museum not much appealing. If you really are the one who likes to visit all museums then it is worth a visit otherwise you can skip it.

This museum had created lot of hype earlier as it was initiated by a frenchman and inaugurated by renowned personalities of Maharashtra, however it would have been slightly better than its current state. The main reason might be the lack of funds, not sure though. I think its still is in early stages and they may develop this over a period of time. It is situated very far from Pune i.e. at Vadgaon Road. Shivaji Maharaj is always very close to the Maharashtrian hearts and anything which is less than perfect doesnt look enough. It is just like a normal museum with nothing different in it. I am still waiting for the big museum of Shivaji Maharaj with all the evidences kept at one place along with the audio aids to explain the history (i have seen such type of Museum in Mysore).

If you have a free weekend afternoon or want to refresh your memories on west was our history , this is your place
Beautiful , serene, clean the museum is a treat.
History story here starts from the vedas, evolution of mankind to the most recent Kashmir issues
The entire museum is classified into long halls with pictures hung on walls that makes you literally take a walk down history lanes
Every wall is beautiful in its capture
However if you are not a history buff then this place is not for you. There is nothing else to do here
The museum begins with a beautiful statue of Shivaji receiving his blessed sword from the Goddess (see pic)

The manager here is an amazing person and will snap serve you as a guide. And expects nothing in return.
There is no entry fee for the museum either

An amazing beautiful place

A must visit
