- lotusdiamondChandigarh, India1,258 contributionsEducation hubPune University is one of the premier higher education institute since long. Beautiful historical Structure well maintained. Located in one corner of Pune. Lush green lawns and gardens , old banyan trees and lot of open space. Campus is very big and always busy with students. Many people staying nearby go inside for walk. Although not on tourist map, but educational importance. Many students dream to study in this university some day.Written May 6, 2020
- Prasad_wildindiaPune, India127 contributionsIconic placePune is known for its educational legacy. This place defines this legacy for sure. I would comment more on the cosmetic aspects of this place than the technical ones. Scenic place, good for a half day visit with friends (of course if security allows). Visit in the 1st half of the day for good pictures with the lightWritten January 15, 2020
- Mr. Himanshu SinhaPune, India1,084 contributionsOne of the oldest in Pune..Pune University is one of the oldest University in Pune, India. The University offers mostly every courses available from engineering to medical or normal graduations. The University is built in a big place, My brother is studying and he is in 2nd year of Mechanical Engineering. As we live in Pune I drop him almost daily to the college. The education and the faculty are very good, they are providing the best knowledge to the students, Placement services are also very good.Traveled with friendsWritten October 10, 2018

This university now called Savitribai Phule Pune University is in Shivaji nagar's Ganesh-khind area in pune. The campus is surprisingly very huge with building / departments of various study streams are location quite far from each other. Traveling facility inside the university is a concern as there are limited 2 - 3 autorikshaw standing at the entrance. No shuttle vehicles / mini buses are planned for internal traveling. There is a bank in the campus which felicitates fees paying facility for the students. Quite & peaceful & helpful staff members.

Pune University is a modern cutting edge university with vast natural greenery in the midst of Pune city. Buildings are often humbly hidden behind trees. Simplicity is the theme of the campus and also of the culture of interactions. However, uncompromisingly a global standard is maintained in every academic aspect.

Large sprawling campus that also houses an interesting astronomy centre. The buildings are reminiscent of colonial times. Maintenance could be better

We go here often for jogging, walking and light time exercise activity. There are amazing gardens and sights here, artists can find inspiration and create or paint excellent pieces of art here. The place offers many educational resources. A diverse range of students and researchers reside here. The nature here is persistently conserved that is rich with trees inhabited or traversed by a variety of birds including many rare species.

The reaction once you enter the main gate of the university, is its huge and with lots and lots of open spaces.
Pros:
1. Huge land bank right in the middle of the city.
2. Lots of departments within the university for any stream of education.
3. Area near the admin block is well maintained.
4. Since Pune itself is full of flora, there is still hell of greenery within the campus.
4. At the end it is still a place to be, since it is one of the old universities that has been around for quite a while.
Cons:
1. Since there is so much of space, its grossly unorganized and badly maintained.
2. If you are a first time visitor, you really have to enquire for directions and you cannot rely purely on sign boards.
3. The building are old and need and some of them badly require maintenance.
Overall, it is an average experience do not expect a lot that you can expect from a private university having just 10% of the space that PU occupies.

Pune is a city of 'youth'. You see youngsters pursuing different things with a lot of energy.
The University of Pune is a legendary institute playing a significant role in creating cultural understanding among different nations. The quality of education is generally good. There's a mixed culture here in Pune with a wide variety.
