It's sad that this place is not at its potential yet. It needs a lot of improvement and maintenance...It has a lot of potential to become an amazing place to walk around and for kids to play.

We visited last year in December 2020 and while we were grateful it was open during the pandemic, it was kind of sad. The place is really bare and hardly any botanical aspect left to it really :( Would love to see more plants and flowers around.

We tried walking the few paths in it but there was hardly anything interesting to see or enjoy and there was trash around everywhere so that was disheartening.

There is a massive playarea for kids so our then 2.5 year old daughter had a lot of fun.

I hope this place gets a good renovation going and becomes what it can :)

This garden which was closed/ partially open during pandemic has been opened for public this Jan 2023 and is in full bloom. It is visited by public at large and there were wide variety of flowers placed in the garden. From 26th Jan to 29th Jan a fair was organized in this place related to the gardening and associated activity. It had an entry ticket of Rs.50/- with no dearth of parking place. It was a thoroghly enjoyable experience for about 3 hrs.

This is a beautiful garden. At a little awkward location but worth a visit. A water fountain with flashing colors. A small train and other play items for children. Tall trees to give you shade. Good parking space. A visit once in a while shall refresh you and your family. Do visit when the arrange flower show.

If you a bird watcher living in Pune, and not able to go far away to Bhigwan or other places for birding, then consider Empress Garden as a birding spot as can find a number of birds like grey hornbill, common tailor bird, Indian robin, Rose ringed Parakeet, etc.

This is a place which has a lot to wonder. There is enough parking, entry fee is Rs 10 and car parking is 20. Is open till 6 pm. Here is the experience part, if you go on a weekend it is more of a mela rather than a garden, a lot of private parties with food caterers, lot of children play area swings, lots of food stalls including a small resturant. A small uncomfortable toy train, but this time of the year flower show is good. There are no guides and no one to tell you what to see and where to see, as you enter the photographs put up are of overseas garden and not of this one. In a nutshell I don't think it is aimed at nature loving people, it is more aimed at picnic kind of visit. So plan your visit properly, no need to take a sLR camera with a tripod, a mat with ball would be a better thing with family.

Had read a lot about this in the newspapers for the on going flower festival. Thought of trying it out.

The place is not too well managed. Lot of traffic jam resulted in a full one km walk. And it was a dusty one. The place was all decked with additional flowers and pots.
Originally I don't think the place has too many flowers or plants.

Nice place to be at, but only if you are prepared for a long dusty experience.

It's a green spot in Pune, full of impressive tall trees. There were not many birds,as I was expecting to see and the garden is not very big.If maintained it could be a good garden. There was nothing special to see there except the trees and the flowers, also there was not any place for the visitors to sit and rest or have any view.

I went there with friends to spend some fun time, but the place is wastage. The locals have made the place a to dumb garbage all around.

There is no place to sit and enjoy the view or the greenery as there is nothing like view in this place.
there is the small streak of water flowing through the garden and local men were bathing in it with their children.

It was ugly even if you gave a glance. And there were local ferry and other stuff full of smoke pumping carbon in the trees and on us.

Also on the other side of the garden, where you think you might find a little peace but no.. there were garden watchmen , a few of them were whistling on the local ugly teenage kids, as they were making out on the bench or around the trees

Basically,

Garden is not maintained
People dump trash all over it
Local Men bathing in little lane of water with their kids
couple making out on benches.
Watchmen shouting and whistling over your head.

The Empress Garden is located near the Pune Race Course. Garden has a water fountain, snack joint, a mini ice cream parlour and adequate restrooms. For the elderly, there is also a ‘Nana Nani’ park.
Nothing really unique or magical but very peaceful.
