I was in India for almost 6 weeks touring. My last place was to Pune. I went to Tulsi Baug with few local friends for shopping. Within 15 minutes of entering the place for shopping I got pick pocketed. My wallet was stolen from my handbag which I was carrying closely! My passport along with money and credit cards were in my wallet. Just be careful! For me it was a bad experience even after the fact!

I came here with an American who has lived in Pune for a couple years. It was crazy busy that day but we had so much fun shopping at the little stores. Shopkeepers were very friendly (although many didn't speak much English) - they understood 'just looking' and would leave you alone until you were prepared to make a purchase. Prices were so low. I felt a bit out of place - no other white tourists to be found! - but felt comfortable. Crossing the street was completely overwhelming but we made it! We saw two elephants which was absolutely excellent. The fruit and vegetable market was fun to see - the vendors display the produce so prettily. I would highly recommend going only if you are with someone who knows the area - it would be VERY easly to get lost in the maze of streets and alleys. Also - don't drink as there are no public restrooms that I could find.

An extremely crowded market such that one keeps on brushing shoulders with other people all the time. It is a good place for shopping wholesale products which the shopkeeper will send to your place (specially outstation) by transport if you provide sufficiently high order. There is so much crowd that one needs to be careful of pick pocketers.

The Tulshi baug market is the best place in Pune to shop. There are multitudes of small shops selling almost absolutely everything that one needs, except for food articles. From trinkets to imitation jewelry, from miniature crockery to dinner sets; Tulshi baug has everything. Tulshi baug, Laxmi road and Ravivar peth offer you the best street shopping experience in Pune. Great variety, a chance to bargain and an opportunity to get that one elusive item that you need in you collection. You have to pay this place a visit if you are a visitor to Pune.

This is probably one of the busiest place in whole Pune. Street side shopping which can sell almost every ladies thing at cheap rates Right from clothing to artificial jewelry, all cosmetics items to all fashion accessories. This place is definitely a heaven for ladies but equally tiring for Mens. Nearly 90% of ladies will prefer shopping in tulshi baugh for hours over food & water, even they are kept hungry for 2-3 days. During pre-festivals, this place is flooded with people around shopping, If you just step into Tulsi baugh, then you automatically reach the other side of the road. Mens do prefer sitting at Agatya restaurant to get some fresh air. Even though this place is not at all in my wish list to visit, But I still go and visit this place, because I don't have any choice .. :(. I wish my wife & all the ladies happy shopping & all the married mens & myself .. GOD BLESS

I went first time in Tulsi baug market and quite impressed the stuff I found there. In this market you can find everything like dresses, Kids clothes, Chappals, ethnic marathi dresses, Artificial jewellery and many more. If you are planning to go to this market then take out at least 3 hours in hand, because you don’t get to know where time flies while shopping ☺️.
Better to take cash with you as many shops are small patri shops sp they don’t have card facilities. Saturdays and Sundays are quite crowded.

We Puneites have been shopping in Tulsi Baug since time immemorial.
This is a very narrow lane that hosts a variety of little shops and roadside stalls. The products range from artificial jewelry, elegant dresses, night wear comfortable clothes to footwear, toys and baby gear. It is a wonderful flea market. The prizes are the best you would ever get.

On the down side, the place is very crowded. You may not be able to stop at any place you want. It could be a nightmare if you go with young children.
