This Jain temple comes under the western group of Khajuraho temples. It is a UNESCO world heritage site. It was built by King Gandha in early 11th century. Fine grained sandstone was used in the construction. This temple sanctum has no pradakshina. This temple shares same platform of Kandharia temple. Originally this temple was dedicated to Vishnu but now there is image of Parvati in the center. This temple faces east. It has erotic picture inside as well as outside. Vishnu image is carved on sanctum doorway. Square ceiling of mahamandapa is very simple. Outer walls have carvings of Vishnu, Yama and Sursundaris.
Entry ticket for all western group of temples is Rs. 10 for Indians and Rs. 250 for foreigners.
Video camera fees is Rs. 25. Temple remains open from sunrise to sunset.
There is facility of audio guide which costs Rs. 62 in Indian languages and Rs.100 in English.

Devi jagdambi temple is located beside kandariya mahadev temple. This is also similar in structure and one of the biggest temple in complex. You can see many stone carved sculptures on this temple also. Originally this temple is dedicated to lord Vishnu but there's a statue of goddess Parvati in sanctum.

It was so big and huge, could not complete it and had to return back to it the next day. But again, must commend the upkeep of the temple and its grounds.

Biggest Khajuraho Temple, front canopies have been restored after erosion over the years. Exteriors are replete with erotic postures in stone carvings.

The inscriptions says this is originally Vishnu temple in the Western group of temples, now houses Devi Jagdhambi Parvathi. Devi stands in the Garbha graha with eyes twinkling white and beautiful. Visit this temple and celebrate the Divine feminine power Shakti, Universal Maa to us all.
