This temple is dedicated to Vaman, an avatar of Vishnu. Vaman comes from 'baavan' or the number 52. The significance is of the evolving man who, at one point of time, was of 52". However, Vaman is traditionally not worshipped. The temple is located quite close to the Chaturbhuj Temple. The walls have exquisite sculptures, including erotica. The surrounding gardens... More

Vaman Temple is at a walking distance from Javeri Temple. This temple is dedicated to fifth avatar of Vishnu, which is Vaman. Vaman literally means a dwarf Brahmin. Sculptures including erotic ones are there on the walls of this temple. In the sanctum of this temple, you can see the idol of Lord Vaman. The temple is on a platform,... More

Vamana (dwarf) is one of the incarnations of Vishnu. This simple but large temple in the Eastern group stands in a field cut off from the other temples. Worth a visit if you are planning to check out the Eastern temples.

Carvings of gods and goddess are in attractive gestures and erotic images are worthseeing. It is also on a high platform and has exotic view. Vamana temple is most probably the largest temples of south group. Better... More

Located in the East of Khajuraho, on the up-north is a stand-alone temple. Mostly damaged sculptures since not well protected.

We visited this temple early morning when the sun light was slowly illuminating the beautifully carved temple and the statue of Vamana. I think pictures speak louder than words so I would post a few pics so you can view the grandeur of this temple, located in the eastern group of temples.
