My husband and I boarded the Shatabdi Express having just alighted the Shimla to Kalka Toy Train. We were booked in first class which has AC, plenty space for luggage in the overhead compartments and a western style toilet. The journey takes 5 hours and takes you Delhi train station. A smooth enough journey and it left on time though... More

This train took us to Kalka from New Delhi. It was comfortable and the breakfast and lunch supplied to our seats delivered by two keen young guys. The toilets pretty basic

Shatabdi express is clean but a lot more things are to be taken care of. Food and tea provided by them is not that good. Needs to improve that. When train gets late by hours, there is no availability of food which makes it more difficult to travel.

We took the executive class from Delhi at 07:40 to Chandigarh, arriving 11:45 and from there with a vehicle to Simla. At Shimla hotel at 15:45 (exactly 4 hrs). The food provisions are adequate and there is even a choice of omelet, with or without spice. For the small price difference you really should choose the 2 + 2 seats... More

I travelled in Blore - Chennai Shatabdi this Wednesday. The seat was comfortable, compartment was clean. The AC was getting very cold when nearing Chennai. Water bottle and coffee was served immediately.Food served was average. Upma was too hard, Chutney & coffee was watery. No extra tissues provided. Vada was fine. Reached chennai on time. Overall, a good journey, but... More

We took the Shatabdi Express fro Delhi at 4:30pm to Amritsar. The train arrived in Amritsar at 10:45 pm. Taking the Shatabdi was quite a surprising experience for me and definitely not what I expected. For one, you are assigned neat and comfortable coach style seats and are able to store your luggage in overhead compartments. Space for luggage is... More

For a fantastic train experience, take the 7.15 Shatabdi Express which leaves from Chennai Central station to Coimbatore. From there, you can take a car (or train) to Mettupalayam. The following day, board the world Heritage cog wheel steam train (Toy Train) up tp Ooty. This is a fantasic experience. Sit back and enjoy incredible views while marvelling at such... More
