Long waits for your 3 hour timeframe
It’s a fun place and when you get to ride down the snow it’s enjoyable. We have been coming for years and the lines keep getting longer and longer. Expect to ride 6 times in 3 hours when they are busy and the rest of the time is standing in line. I wish they would only sell so many passes where it wasn’t all just standing in lines.

    Not worth VIP
We bought the VIP tickets and felt it was a waste of money. Way to expensive for the experience. The lines were extremely long. It was so crowded and disorganized. Even the VIP “reserved tubes” wasn’t accurate because there were people from everywhere grabbing those tubes. We were there for about 5 hours and got to slide twice because the kids were unable to wait in the long lines. My 7 year old was scared of the big slides, but wasn’t allowed on the kid ones for being too tall. So she spent the day in the igloo bored. The pizza was gross. For $500, the VIPs should definitely have their own line to make it worth it. We didn’t get any better of an experience than regular admission aside from a guaranteed place to sit.

    Winter Park
The Winter Park was fun but we only got to go on 2 rides in 2 hours. The park advertises 7 runs but they only ever had 4 at most running. The lines moved very slow. They close precisely at 5. My children were5 away from being able to go down a third time and were turned away after they ad stood in line for over 30 minutes. There are several ways the process could be more efficient so people could tube more than twice in 2 hours.

    Could be better
Wait lines too long! Three hour visit and we're only able to go down hills three times due to lines. You need to build more magic carpets. Also need better signage.

    Not worth the price.
We expected more. Too expensive to only be able to go down the slide 2 times in a span of 3 hours. They need better organization and not oversell tickets. Over an hour stuck in a line to go up the first time.

Slow turnover with tubers on slopes
Pre-purchased tickets and signed waivers but still had to wait in line with everyone who was purchasing tickets to receive our tags. Defeats the purpose of buying in advance. Limited runs open made the wait time over an hour to tube the larger runs. Therefore you only were able to tube 3-4 times. They needed more runs open and staff to keep the line moving. Overall time was fun when you got to tube, but not worth the price for a family if you don’t get the opportunity to tube multiple times. Food trailers were a plus.

Wish we could say that we had a better time, this place could be great!
Great hills for snow tubing, we made the best of it! However, the park was HEAVILY overcrowded, understaffed, and a bit run-down; lines were approximately 70 minutes to go down each hill once. We had booked our own VIP Igloo approx $600), as the description stated that we would have a separate area for snow tubing and be provided tubes. That was not the case; we fought to find tubes like everyone else, stood in line for hours like everyone else. Our family was at the park from around 11:30am, until right before closing.. and were only able to go down the hill on tubes 3 times due to the lines. In my opinion, the VIP Igloo was NOT worth the money spent (cold, off putting pizza); however, the hostess staff were very sweet. **the gentlemen attending the lines for snowtubing spent their time yelling at everyone for even touching the snow or playing in it (yes, I understand the reason given that it had not snowed recently..), and yelling at everyone for having the wrong tubes, then turning them all around to get the right tubes and go to the end of the line. My husband and I decided that we will most likely not return to this Ruidoso Winter Park on our next trip to the area. Perhaps consider implementing a lower cap on the number of park customers at once, and put some of that profit back into fixing up the park and getting a sufficient number of staff on board.

Fun, But Horrible Customer Service and Rude Employees
The park itself is fun and my kids (all 9 years) had a blast. The people working there however were not so fun. The guys they had standing at the ends of the tubes were absolutely ridiculous. Constantly yelling at the customers and kids about moving along, or putting their feet down or not to pick up the snow was way over the top. I had words with one of the really rude ones who insisted that I was not allowed to stand at the end of a ramp to film my son coming down. Mind you I was a good 30 yards past where even the longest rider was stopping, and completely out of the line of fire. I have to say, I didn’t pay $170 for three hours of being yelled at by rude employees who obviously had serious control issues.

Don’t go on holidays lines are tooooo long!
Don’t go on a holiday weekend. We paid in advance and got there for the three hour slot. Kids only got to go down a hill 3 times it was so packed and lines were so long. They should limit the amount of tickets sold per time slot.

    Great Time
Had a great time even though it was already March and Ruidoso had no more snow left. They make their own snow at Winter Park so my son still had a blast. He, 4 years old, had a great time after he got rid of the fear. My daughter, 2 years old, did not get over the fear - even in the kiddie area. Over awesome time. We ended up going twice because that seems to be the only thing Ruidoso has for very young kids. FYI if you go in March don't go nuts like us and buy too much "snow" cloth. The snow boots and a light sweater is enough. It too hot to wear a big jacket. The snow boots, or just boots, are recommended because there is several big puddles and if you have tennis shows your feet will get soaked.

We picked a busy weekend, I'll start with that. First time coming and didn't know what to expect. We opted for the VIP that came with an igloo and special parking. What I didn't expect out of a small park was all of the options this included. From the time we were met with the smile at check in to the concierge type service at our igloo, very impressed! We were part of the family when we received our badges and were given zip lining tickets, free drinks tickets, free pizza tickets. Our hostess was great. She had our igloo clean and ready with tubes (handpicked as the "faster" tubes), and she made herself available to whatever we needed. Sure the lines were a little long, but I think it made the experience better. In these times of social media and mobile devices, watching my teenagers smile ear to ear when getting on the conveyor for the first time and then seeing them just plain exhausted after a full day of fun, worth every penny. I encourage any family needing to spend some time together to make it out here. For sure some weatherproof pants and jackets is a plus to keep from getting wet, some good tread soles of your shoes for better grip. The good thing is the gift shop rents bib waterproof overalls and the boots are sold around 30 bucks. They not only have pizza but a roasted corn stand, lemonade stand, kettle popcorn, sweets stand like funnel cakes and stuff and a regular concession stand. Thank you for everything staff, great job.

Prepaid three days in advance online but had to wait in a long line to even get our passes. They really should consider a better system for online purchases like a different check in line. Then the lines for the tubing was ridiculously long and standing in line with a 3, 6 and 8 year old for an hour to go down once is just not worth it. You pay $26 per adult and $21 per child to tube for three hours but what they don’t tell you is you may only go down 3 times if it’s crowded. We went and bought our own sleds for $13 each and sled the next two days for free which was way more fun! Save your money and your time.

We are local and have gone for several years but the last couple of years the crowds have been bigger and bigger and the experience worse and worse. This year it was Beyond overcrowded. Spent $50 online for three hours of tubing, the lines were so long it took a full hour to get from the back of the line and down the hill. That’s not creating a great customer experience, that is simply taking in as much money as you can. We will not return.

Hi, Thank you for your recent review. I am sorry that you didn't enjoy your visit to the Winter Park.. Apparently you choses to visit this past MLK weekend, the busiest weekend out side of the Christmas holidays. I do have to ask if you are locals and know how busy the park gets, why would you visit during the holidays. Most locals take advantage of their extreme discounts and visit on the Monday and Friday bonus days when the your tickets are good for the entire day and the lift lines are none existent. You also forgot to mention that we discourage visits during the holidays because we do operate at capacity. In an effort to improve the overall experience for all of our guests. We our in the planning stages to expand the park almost doubling the size and number of tubing chutes. We do anticipate completing the expansion by next season.. If you would reference this review to me. I would like to provide you and your family with complementary tickets so that I may get your feed back on the improvements. Thank you, Tubin' Tommy

11 yr old son was bored and disappointed. We purchased twilight tubing passes to keep from standing in long lines and we stood in long lines after sunset. We will buy sleds and hot chocolate to enjoy Ruidoso parks, next visit.

Very disappointing!!!! We paid for three hours and literally got to tube down the hill 4 times and some members in our family only got to tube 3 times. We literally spent hours waiting in line. It’s clear this place is all about making money, money, money. If they wanted to do it right and give people an enjoyable experience, then they would limit the number of guests that are allowed in the park at a time. Maybe try doing two hour blocks with a smaller crowd and then people would actually get to tube. We were also disappointed because even if you pay for your tickets online, you wait in the same line as everyone else. That is ridiculous! What is the point of purchasing your tickets online? Also, there was false advertising on their website. It shows a large tube with 6 to 8 people sitting in their tube together going down the hill together. This is no longer at Winter Park and was one of the main reasons we went. If this is no longer offered, it needs to be taken off the website. My children watched video after video of entire families going down the hill, only to arrive at Winter Park and realize that they no longer even have this attraction. Ridiculous!. If you want to spend $36 a person to stand in line for hours and go down the hill 3 to 4 times, enjoy! We definitely will not be back!

Winter Park is advertised as open for summer tubing and ziplining on Fri-Mon. I checked online and Winter Park was in fact selling tickets online for the Sunday we wanted to go, so we headed out there. When we pulled up the parking lot it was empty except for a few cars. An employee came out and said they were closed and that if we bought tickets online they would allow us to use them another day. Well, another day came. I called in advance to find out if they were open because it had rained. The employee I spoke with said they were still operating the zipline and that we could come on down. We arrived about 20 minutes later and the park was closed. I spoke with an employee who said that due to not having enough customers they just decided to shut down- even though I had JUST called 20 minutes earlier and was told they were open. Once again we were told we could come back another time. Ever hear of the expression, "third times a charm?" Well...not in this case. We tried a third and final time. This time when we got there I was told they were closed due to a power outage in the area (even though there were lights on at Winter Park and employees were there working). Once again, we were told we could come back another time. The employee promptly handed me a book of local attactions and said maybe we could find something else to do here. Is it a coincidence that they are selling online tickets for attractions that have been closed on three separate occassions we went down there? Maybe I'm just that unlucky? Or maybe they're selling tickets to a park that isn't really open??? Don't waste your time this summer! Head over to the Inn of the Mountain Gods. They take reservations and while more pricey, you're guaranteed to ride the zipline!

Myself, my husband, and our girls (ages 4 & 8) had a wonderful time this weekend. The weather was a bit on the warmer side, but it didn't really affect the experience. While it was pretty busy for the holiday weekend, the lines took about 20-25 minutes. Nonetheless, I observed continued politeness from all the employees at the top of every snow hill for all types of riders. I was glad to see they did not seem annoyed and actually made the experience comfortable for the "nervous rider" and fun for the "adventurous rider".

Kids had a blast. Igloo is pricey but worth it if you plan to stay all day. You can honestly get your fill w/ a regular 3 hour ticket but the igloo is a nice place to keep your things and get out of the cold. We went on a very windy day and were happy we had the igloo. We didn’t even need the inside heater. The igloo blocked the wind and we could eat and rest without everything getting blown away. Also had access to more fire pits to roast marshmallows and up close parking. Crowd was very reasonable even though it was spring break (maybe still due to Covid) so lines were not too long. Most we waited was 15 minutes and only a couple times. We stayed 9:30am - 2pm. FYI: if you get the igloo go check in at the igloos. You don’t have to wait in line at the main ticket area. Also tell parking attendant you have igloo package and he’ll direct you to the VIP parking. We did not get to do the zip line b/c of the wind, but we all still had fun. Overall it was a great time and I recommend going.

We visited on Friday afternoon 3/6, and there were absolutely no lines, we just tubed down and went straight back up over and over. We almost didn’t come due to the reviews talking about long waits etc, but I’m so glad we gave it a shot!! My 4 year old was above 42” and was scared at first to tube, so she wanted to play in the kids area. Only complaint is they almost didn’t let her in there, since she was over 42”. Not cool...she’s a tall 4 year old. But they said she could finally, but she could not use a tube. So she happily slid down the hills in her snow bib lol. She got her courage up and eventually rode the taller hills and had a blast.

My 8 year old and I went constantly, never resting, and had a fabulous time. The staff were all nice, talkative, but yes all speaking different languages amongst each other. Spoke perfect English however, to settle the other reviews. They all got to know us quickly since we went down so many times.

Overall, AWESOME visit!

Winter Park is an absolute blast, we came up from San Antonio, Texas and Winter Park was part of our itinerary in 2019 and we did it again Jan. 2022 and we will do it again maybe as soon as next year!
We rented the igloo each time and I highly recommend this, it’s a great place to warm up, sit and relax and have privacy.
It entitles you to a VIP parking, the zip line and all day from opening to closing on the slopes.
This place is fun for all ages, my wife and I have a blast as well as our kids and grandkids! The staff is friendly and helpful. The expanded igloo area is great, there are many more igloos now available and the open fire pits and picnic tables are all very nice! Paula was a wonderful hostess during our visit!
The slopes are awesome, they have slopes for small children and thrilling fast slopes and everything in between! There’s always plenty of snow and the surrounding hills and Pines are beautiful! Employees all seem to be friendly and helpful and have a smile, and that says a lot about ownership and management. Thanks for a great time! We will see you again soon!
