A nice temple

This is on the way to varkala beach . A nice cute temple and very popular among localites . People come to these temples for doing pooja to departed souls.

An old temple with an interesting history about a Dutch captain who donated the ship's bell when it sank without any loss of life. Foreigners are not allowed inside.

It is a historic temple in varkala; almost 2000 years old.It is considered to be one of the oldest Hindu temples. The main god here is the Lord Vishnu. Temple is decently crowded. Worth a watch

Very peaceful temple in the city heart of varkala. At night the place is lit with candles and the sight is just to watch. There is limited crowd so you can fully enjoy this.

Beautiful, ancient, humbling, moving. As Western (White) Hindus, we were accepted without question and permitted to show our respects and absorb the experience.

this temple is ancient. being there and soaking up the energy of a place in which religious worship has been conducted long before chrstianity came into existence has been a wonderful time. we listened to chants for a long time, walked around the temple and just let the energy guide us. a magical place.

Taking everything in stride, we were able to appreciate the beauty of the outside, with candles lit along the walls... More
