Secluded Beach

One of the most secluded beach in Varkala. Boating options are available. Carry food and drinks with you while visiting this beach and preferably an own transport would be good.

We went to Kappil Beach and was not amazed by it, but, we had an unexpected pleasant private boat trip on the Kappil Lake. The one hour boat trip costs 1,000 INR per boat (not per person). There were so many colourful jelly fish in the lake. It is a very different experience whether you are on the road looking... More

A must visit place , when in Varkala. The sweeping view of the seas are beautiful. There is a road, with Kapil Lake on one side and the sea on the other. Looks lovely. Take your own transportation. ( Taxi, car, auto, ) You might not find any means of transport to bring you back. You can spend 1-3 hours... More

We took an hours boat ride on its tranquil waters, away from the bustle & din of the more fancied one from Kollam. Only two boats ply currently till 5.30pm everyday. It's not a ride in the backwaters, but on a "largish" lake and so the experience is different.

It is a nice drive-by. We went on a honda activa and rode along the coastal road. Amazing experience.

Kappil late is near to varkala beach .. around 5-7 km distance.!! It is a place where a lake is joining to sea ..!! when you travel the road we can see both lake and sea on either side of the road...!! An highly recommended place those who visit varkala..!!

We, Indians, always behave like pigs. Littering around... I saw an ice-cream vendor with dust-bin...and a good beach is so dirty that we had to pave our way carefully...

This backwater lake is almost with very less tourist, so you can have more privacy. We went for boating on this tranquil waterway and the shore full of coconut trees makes us feel very calm - that's nature's speciality. If you ready to spend time without any urgency, then this place is for you!

One of the biggest backwaters very close to the sea and the ride is in a speed boat. As it was raining, we were lucky to come back on time as otherwise you can get wet. All safety life jackets are provided before the ride and it is truly a great experience
