Not too many visitors at this place. Avoid afternoon time to visit because of hot sun. No entrance fees. Temple will be closed during afternoon. There is a bamboo walkway at the top of the hill.

This is a small yet nice location. You can get a full view of the city from the top of the hill. Good spot for a short and sweet picnic. Do visit the place in the morning before the heat builds up. The bamboo bridge which gives access to the hill top is creaky and shows its age. There is also a Shiva temple nearby which is also unique. But the steps are steep, you should be very careful. There are two ways to reach the hill. If you have elderly people having difficulty to climb the hill, then you can take another route by car. But you still have to take the bamboo bridge to reach the top most point. Also don't forget to carry some water with you.

We went for a visit to this rock cut temple on the outskirts of trivandrum which has a very old 9th century rock cut cave temple along with a rock climbing and a bamboo bridge to have a nice view of the greeneries around.. also a small kid's park is available. Should go in evening to really enjoy the breeze and view. But hte temple is open only in th emornings.

This is one of the must visits and hidden gem of Trivandrum. Approx 45 mins drive from main city amidst the green jungle. Parking is available near the main road(less traffic). One need to climb around 200 mts to reach the cave temple. From there we need to walk through a narrow passage besides the rock. Passage is narrow and slippery but safe. Then we reach the bamboo bridge, beautiful one and will reach the bamboo hut. Trust me, dont miss it especially sunset time. You can see Technopark and beach from there.

When you are going to this temple the Bamboo Bridge is no too strong so avoid walking through that area . Allways carry some water when you are climbing the hill.but it is a nice picnic spot and can also worship the lord shiva.Their is one speciality that we can see the sea when we climb to the top .There is also a spot for see it clearly.

Madavoorpara was famous for the ancient cave temple which is part of local folklore. Its believed the pandavas had been here and the marks of their chariot wheels and the footsteps of bhima are still present on the rocks.

The place is really beautiful. The wind.. The view.. The scenic beauty.. Nature is blended with a little artificial touch.

The timing as per the official met there is from evening 5.00pm.. N it is highly recommended that not to go there in the day time as the public and the caretaker of the place will look the visitors suspiciously.. They do have point in their suspicion still we go there to hangout and to get calm unpolluted air then why to get into trouble with the locals.

There is the shiva temple and will be open at in the early morning 5.30am to 9.00am and evening 5pm to 7pm only. But almost all sites shows the time incorrectly.

Hope this review is helpful.

Madavoorpara is an archaeological site which consists of a Rock cut Siva temple. There is a childrens park on top of the hill which is accessible from below through trekking and also from above through road.

Place has an excellent top view of the city and skyline. Bamboo bridge is also present which has been recently refurbished.
