The Neyyar reservoir is easily navigable and extends 9.06 sq. km. The vegetation varies from tropical wet evergreen to grasslands. The Agasthyakoodam hill, 1890 metres high, lies in the premises of the sanctuary. Elephants, gaur, sloth bear, Nilgiri tahr, jungle cat, wild boar, Nilgiri langur etc. are seen. A crocodile rearing centre, deer farm and lion safari park are the main attractions.

A decent one day activity.You can see some lions on an island,some deer elsewhere, and some crocodiles as well. A boat will take you to all the different places.

Don't expect more. You can see three lions during lion safari, crocodiles and deer. Trekking was very good.

Neyyar dam is approachable from Trivandrum ,a 1 to 130 hr drive.Enjoy the drive ,its beautiful with lush green around.It very calm there.You can take a walk around the dam.Then pay and use the boating cross the river for a wildlife safari where you can see lions on the road while we are taken on safari...in the forest...and also to... You can see variety of animals. Can come up close with lions, but you'll be in a cage wagon. No danger. The lions seemed a bit timid. (But however timid they are they can lions ;) ). The crocodile section is also good. Rest there are dears. And the river boat ride is also soothing

its an awsone place to visit. ticket charge is 100/- if by bus ( bus is belongs to forest department) 250 if by boat from forest office. U can find Lions during Lion safari.. but u need to visit in sunny day time.. if people love wild life then they really enjoy this park

its a beuatiful dam with a lot of things to enjoy. Mainly the nature. you can have the view from the tower or better take a boat ride.

This is an amazing place. Very naturally beautiful and surprisingly there are a couple of lions to be spotted as well. The dam and the neighborhood are quite pretty. The disappointing part is the shabby infrastructure there. The vehicle they use to transport you inside the `forest' is crammed, non-air conditioned and just plain old box. The way into the... More

worth to see this place 35 kms away from trivandrum city frequent bus service available in every 10 mts from main trivandrum bus stand opposite to railway station, sivananda yoga centre worth to see and attend short term yoga courses. go to upper hill in a local auto charges 150 for up and down with waiting chgs for 30 mts

This is very good experience where you get to see the Lion vey closly. There are not much animals but still the lion safari is very good. Deer and few more animals are keplt. Should not miss this if near by Trivandrum.

Absolutely disgusted with this place!!! The boat rides they offer are speed boat rides for about 10 minutes ripping around the reservoir, which obviously disturbs, upsets the animals! How can you offer that when you're supposed to be running a "reserve" for the animals! The place was littered with rubbish, an absolute disgrace, it looks like a holiday camp out... More
