Nice cruise but don't expect to see big wildlife.

Opt for evening ride and you will see lot of animals. Elephant, bison, safari... good guide available.... just go one hour early and all is fine

A journey into a landscape for Jurassic Park Film enthusiasts... ruined wooden trees rise from the waters as you pile into a boat packed full of people....take binos and long lenses to truly appreciate the bird life and animals that lurk in nature... it is not going to come out readily for a hoarde load of noisy tourists!

Nothing much to rave about. A poor monsoon has had an effect on the water level. Besides there was nothing worth seeing here.

We did the 9.30am cruise, probably a bit late, as the wildlife,,including elephants are usually seen early in the morning. The cruise however was pleasant, and we saw lots of birds. One of the park guides was very good at spotting and identifying wildlife. We saw a group of wild boar in the distance but the highlight was the family... More

Time to visit is early mornings when you get to to see many animals and amazing sites. Better to book online as chaotic getting tickets and offer sold out in season

The boats are old and noisy. The wearing of the scruffy life jackets were mandatory. We had been for a walking trek around the lake that morning and we didn't see any more wildlife from the boat except for a few deer. But, it was a lovely afternoon weather wise and a nice cool breeze through the open windows.

Don't know what day really. No water no Lake. We saw martial arts show instead - extremely good. Don't like tethered elephants - not good.

Periyar Lake is a wonderful place to be at dawn, when the bird and animal spotting is probably at its best. The birds in particular were wonderful in our time there, and included the woolly necked stork, hornbills, many kingfishers, as well as others. We were lucky enough to see lots of animals, although the family of otters who swam... More
