Good place to shop spices

Visited little early in the day and was pleasantly surprised to see some of the shops open. Found all spices n combinations I wanted. No bargaining though.

When you go to Ginger market, just look at the amazing beds of ginger being dried out in the sun. There's a store on the second floor that sells spices. Just have the cardamom or ginger tea there but DON'T buy their spices. They're way more expensive and owner won't even let you bargain. I bought fish and chicken curry... More

If you love cooking or you just love the smell of spices, then this is the place to visit. Spices here and fresh and you can find pretty much any Asian spice you could possibly want.

Good quality spices, fresh from the gardens of Munnar . Reasonably priced and value for money. The area known as Broadway is very approachable by road. The Marine drive is also very close by and a tourist spot where one can go for a short cruise of one hour.

Few people could possibly walk through this market without stopping, being tempted and buying. It did seem that travelling as an individual I got better prices than the tourist groups. My problem was knowing when to stop. The big question is: Will I use everything I bought when I return to the UK - I hope so.

We went to the store made famous by a discovery documentary. The place is also famous as "Aunty's store". It took us a while to get all our packaging done, but the spices were really smelling nice. Hoping they enhance the food flavors as well.

In the less tourist-focused area of Kochi. See the spices being prepared, drying and sorted prior to sale. Seemed to be popular with locals too. Stock up on old favourites and try some new ones at very cheap prices.
