We visited this church which is very simple inside. You must take off your shoes to enter the church.

While we had not been harassed in Fort Cochin by a myriad of people selling souvenirs, we were surrounded upon arriving to St. Francis' and before entering the church. Inside, simple furnishings and a quiet space invite to meditate. Vasco de Gama was buried here...More

Whether your religious or not its worth a visit to admire the beauty and workmanship. Equally a great place contemplate life, pray and take some time out in peace and quiet in an otherwise busy Fort Kochi

This church is very simply furnished and much like any other simple church. It is said however to be the oldest church built by the Europeans in India.

When visiting Fort Kochi, a stop at St. Francis Church is well worth a few minutes of your time. There's nothing grandiose about it, but it has a charm of its own. It's one of the few buildings where you can feel the Portuguese heritage...More

Church of St. Francis is worth of visit in Kochi’s historic area of Fort Kochin. It is very solemn and holy. The district makes you feel as if you are in somewhere in Portugal or Spain.

Visited here as part of a city tour, Portugese explorer Vasco de Gama is buried here. Lovely old church , definitely worth a stop, you can then walk down the street to the old fishing nets from here.
