Hardly any people!

We took the crowded ferry (2 rupees!) from Fort Cochin to the terminal and after walking 5 minutes there was no one around. We went to the small museum about the creation of the island by reclamation in the 1930s by an English engineer. Old black and white photos, best for engineers, but if you are there drop in to see it.
Then another ferry ride to the mainland, again 2 rupees.

Destination Fort Kochi !

Ft Kochi is the hangout place, the place has a mixed culture vibe to it. Lot many restaurants are there to satiate your appetite. Spend the evening strolling around the sea shore

Kerala in general is a very neat & clean state in comparison to the other states.
Wellington Island is well looked after & a drive through must be done.

Man made island in Kochi
Dec 2017 • Business
On our last holiday trip with the family, we got a chance to visit Kochi. Weekend tours and trips were almost like the best part of the week which I and some of my family members love the most. We got a chance to stay one of the beautiful man-made Island in Koci - Willingdon Island. In my opinion, Kochi is one of the beautiful city that you can explore with some gorgeous attractions like beaches, backwaters, and waterfalls. This natural island is a part of Kochi with a calm atmosphere. Through this family trip, we got a chance to catch some beautiful memories. so Once you visited Kerala, then stay at this man made Island in Kochi.

This area of Kochi is very clean and nice to walk about. In many places they have provided clean benches to sit and relax with lots of trees

Man Made Island useful for Hotels
Apr 2018 • Family
This is a man made island (in the 1920s) and the only reason we were here was due to staying at the Taj Malabar hotel at the northern end of the island. The island itself has very little to do, it's where the cruise ships dock, and you can get the excellent local government run ferries across to Fort Kochi, Mattanchery and Ernakulam at 4 rupees each. However if you're not staying on this island don't bother coming here, there's nothing to see that isn't visible from Fort Kochi (the harbour / sea views).

One additional point is there is a very interesting boat in the childrens play park on the island that had Indira Gandhi and Mother Theresa amongst others as passengers on it.
