We touched Ramakkalmedu on our return from Idukki to Cochin. Nothing great except its very very windy & desolate - the winds are very strong & chilly - there was no one around except for a small tea shop. You can view the wind farms from here. For those who love hill climbing or trekking, this is the place. Ramakkalmedu is a hill station and a hamlet in Idukki district in the Indian state of Kerala. It is located about 15 km from Nedumkandam on the Munnar-Thekkadyroute it was nice experience, about that to reach in the top of the rocks at rama-kkal-mettu...beatiful place, try to reach there around 2 pm then wait until the sunset...feel the wind...and enjoy... More

It is an wonderfull experience ... Dont miss this place if u aar planng an idukki trip... Its says as that this place recieves the heaviest winds in all asia countries...

Ramakkalmedu is situated approximately 30 kms away from Thekkadi in Idukki district.A must visit place for those who loves adventurous trekking.We can enjoy the beauty of nature and enjoy the breeze.

Amazing Winds and mesmerizing view from the top of Ramakkal and Kuravan mount. The trek to the top station was the best, You need two days of stay to explore at least 10 f the attractions including the vine yards and waterfalls.

Its a nice hilly area in Idukki.A gud view point in Kerala,on the other side Agriculture fields of Tamilnadu.Terrific scrotching sunlight in summer but we never sweat bcoz there is always cool wind that make us refreshed.Horse riding in the hill is too good.Bt getting to Ramakkalmedu via bus is difficult but nice xperience for adventures.Car or tourist bus will... More

The scenic beauty this place have is really amazing. The misty mountains, the gigantic kuruvan sculpture, the trekking experience, everything made this place a very memorable one. I am sure no one will regret visiting this place.

At around 15 Kms from Nedukandam, @ MSL 3500ft, a small town en route Thekkady from Munnar, named Ramakkalmedu The Cradle of Wind. Spectacular birds eye view of Tamilnadu villages and towns like Kumbum, Theni is an aswesome experience. Travelers can see the big statue of Kuravan and Kurathi on the top of the ramakkalmedu.
