In a group of 3 we were driven by the wonderful Suresh in a jeep to the Viripara national park. There we went on a hike through the woods upto a hilltop led by a very experienced guide (37 years in the role) Simon. He and Suresh pointed out giant squirrels, a large centipede, a 2 metre black snake and an eagle. The snake in particular was amazing. They were skilled at going at the right pace for us with plenty of little rests on the climb up to enjoy the scenery. There are many walks in the area of which this was one of them and takes an 1 hour and a bit to walk up including stops. On the way back via a different route we were very kindly invited to Suresh's family in a tea pickers home where we had very welcome tea and met the 3 month old baby. We finished the trip with a paddle in the waterfall.
The trip was organised via our homestay Green valley vista.

Highly recommended for off roading/ jeep. You can get jeep with experienced driver at Munnar.
Route will be Lakshmi estate - viripara- pettimudi viewpoint-attukad wAterfall - pothamedu . You can keep one day for this. (~ 9 am to 5 pm).
The route is very scenic and some locations are regularly shrouded in mist esp between Lakshmi estate and viripara. Nearby spots of viripara are also birders paradise

One of the less explored tourist attraction in Munnar.. This is located towards Mankulam.. Around 15 km from Munnar town.. You can enjoy the waterfalls views and take bath..
Behind the ticket counter small stream is passing.. Good for some pics..
