One of Bangalore’s busiest markets, the KR market, hides this surprise: an elegant palace built by Tipu Sultan, with teak pillars and frescoes. Though incomparable to the more famous Tipu Sultan’s palace at Mysore, this is one of the relatively unknown monuments of Bangalore. Visit this palace along with the ruins of the fort nearby. Also nearby are a temple and a mosque.

Tipu Sultan's palace is a small historical building close to K R Market in Bengaluru city. It is good but not so great that it can pull one because of its grandness. If you have plenty of time and want to see what is there in Bengaluru, you can visit. The palace is small but well carved on timber. The... More

Worth a short visit as there is not a lot to see here. Timber, attractive, unusual architecture. Enjoyed the interaction with Indian tourists - they are welcoming and curious about foreigners.

I was expecting a bit more from this attraction. It is actually a small place, not very well preserved. It seems that there was a fire at some point and the walls were destroyed. The overall architecture is nice, but there are many other interesting places to visit in Bangalore. We spent no more than 20 minutes and payed enormous... More

Might not be maintained too well, but this place is worth a visit for its architecture for people interested in history.

This piece of history needs serious restoration efforts. The walls are dump on the edges, stairs are very dull and non-reliable. It doesn’t seem to look like a palace at all as of now. Comparatively, Tipu Sultan Gumbaz Mysuru seems like an epic masterpiece from history.

It is a small palace that doesn't offer much unless you are into history, photography or architecture. There is a small museum on ground floor which lets you feel the history of the place.

Built entirely of teak during the reign of Tipu Sultan in the 1780s, the summer palace is very ornate (though in need of a bit of maintenance) ... you need to imagine its splendour of yesteryear as a summer getaway inside the walls of the fort. The small museum on the ground floor, helps to put things into perspective. Definitely... More

The only good thing about this place is the good snaps one gets at the garden. Otherwise it has very little to offer. The walls are faded, the paintings are almost destroyed. The teak wood pillars are good by not a must see.
