About
Erstwhile South Parade is Bangalore’s shopping and entertainment hub, along with nearby Brigade Road, Church Street and Commercial Street. Old-timers reminisce fondly about the grand avenue this once was. Many old landmarks have been torn down to make way for characterless glass buildings. The metro running over the road proved to be the proverbial nail in the coffin for MG Road’s beauty. Thankfully, some of the vibe still survives. Walk along and enjoy a few gems that survived the massacre.

Neighborhood: MG Road
One of the most popular shopping, entertainment & business hubs of Bangalore that beautifully binds the old world charm of the British era with the modern cosmopolitan vibes is MG Road. It is one of the busiest main streets of the Bangalore Cantonment connected to its larger family of colonial streets that spread through the city, sprinkled with the charm of oldest buildings and churches. From hopping across cafes, restaurants and the oldest pubs & clubs of Bangalore near Church Street to street shopping at Brigade Road to surfing through best book deals at Blossom, MG Road is a convenient getaway for all locals who just want to chill. The evenings near M.G. Road are incomplete without a stop at U.B. City on Vittal Mallya Road for the swankiest nightlife with some of the best rooftop views of the city.

Love it or hate it (it's full on!) this is where it's happening in downtown Bengaluru. There's a huge variety of restaurants, local history, Metro to whisk you around the city, or just pick a spot and watch the world go by. (If you own a car, leave it at home!)

M.G. Road visit combined with Herbalife office visit
This visit was planned in order to visit the Herbalife office. One of my favourite places in Bengaluru due to the availability of various shopping malls as well as fantastic eateries around it

A great place for shopping all kinds of clothes. Ranging from several brand copies to very large brands. The streets here are quite lively with both Indians and Foreigners. Try to visit it if one is in Bangalore for more than 3 days (I'm saying 3 days because there are other greater places to visit in Bangalore).

MG Road in Bengaluru is just like any other street in any of the top cities. The street is filled with various shops & restaurants. It also offers option for street shopping & road side gol gappas. It is a big street and going through a lot of shops would be time consuming. But as a tourist, good for a night walk and some street side shopping.

This was very highly rated as a must see when I researched, but was mostly disappointed when I got there. Yes, there are stores, but nothing really that interesting. It is somewhere to walk around, but you are better off focusing elsewhere, especially if you are having to drive a distance to get (traffic is pretty bad all around).

More a road with shops on obe side, this areawas a bit disappointing until we cyossed the road. Under the Metro has been develooed into a pleasant walkway. There is kids play equipment, a small art gallery, outside art and a written history of Bengalaru which was totally unexpected but very welcome. If you do visit hhis street make time for the Metro side of the road. Shopping-wise there is a goverment approved gift dhop on the corner opposite MG Rd station. Nice trinkets and good price sandalwood.

I had been to MG road in the evening with great expecation. I heard this is one of the best area in Bangalore city... but i was totally disappointed... The shops are only on one side of the road that too only to a limited stretch. The Brigade road on the one side is a little relief but that is a very short road . I am from Kochi then naturally compared Bangalore's MG road with its counterpart in Kochi ... Kochi MG Road is the best area as compared to Bangalore. Kochi MG road is a 7 Kms. stretch and on both side there are too many modern showrooms and eateries . Bangalore can claim that it has some Pubs over there ... but that alone make happy a family traveler. Not impressed...

Usually Crowded.Shopping Hub of Bengaluru.Located near Vidhana Soudha and High Court of Karnataka. Its a very good place to visit for Shoppers. There are many costly Branded Shops. Its Overcrowded mostly during Weekends,Holidays and Festivals. There is Heavy Traffic on Weekends.Avoid during Weekends and Take care of Children if you are visiting with them. There are many Restaurants to munch in and there is even the Namma Metro M.G Road-Bayapanahalli Line.So if Anyone has not tried the Bengaluru Metro can try it here. Overall a good place to visit especially during New Year
