Big banyan tree, despite being an interesting place of tourist interest is poorly maintained. It lacks basic amenities and poorly maintained. The limited snacks available are sold at skyrocket prices.Unruly tourists spoil the ambience of this serene and huge banyan tree filled vibrant charm. Can be visited as a quick trip.

The Big Banyan Tree or Dodda Aalada Mara (Kannada) is an attraction situated on the Bangalore-Mysore road. Its a short drive from Bangalore and also well connected by public transport. The Banyan tree is around 400 years old and supposed to be the 4th largest. The tree has spread out with many roots and covers about 3 acres in area.... More

Its one of the nature's amazing creation and well maintained spot by the authorities & staffs. A nearby spot to enjoy the big creation i.e Big banyan Tree known as Dodda Alada Mara in Kannada, also can spot lots of monkeys.

Due to the fact that this is one of a kind in the country, it is a must visit. A short drive for people living in Bangalore, it is a place worth visiting. You can have a mini picnic - without littering the place, of course! :-)

Its my third visit, This tree is quite big and they made a park around. It is good to see such a big tree and it reminded me the Adayar banyan tree in chennai, Adayar tree is bigger than this many times. While entering beware of the monkeys it will steal you snacks especially water or cool drink bottles. The... More

Remarkable place and huge intertwining roots. It's a shame that a place as amazing as this is not kept and maintained properly. Had it been anywhere else in the world it would have been marketed well and had amenities in the area outside the park. Fortunately we were not troubled by the monkeys and there was hardly any rubbish to... More

Just around 35 km from Bangalore which makes it a quick getaway from the busy city life. The road that leads to this place is amazing. The 400 years old tree is huge and make you feel amazed at the beauty of nature. There are enough benches to sit under the shades of this tree. Place is very calm and... More
