We stopped by the Magnetic hill. There’s a stretch of road there that’s said to defy gravity. We actually stopped the engine of our cab and checked the authenticity….and our cab really moved at neutral! Must visit for fun.

about 30-40 min drive from Leh towards Confluence is this magnetic Hills. Cars start going uphill supposedly because the hills are magnetic and attract the metal in the car and a stopped car start to slowly move up hill. a 20 min stop max is a good option on the main high way.

There's enough of material on the internet that clarifies that the so called magnetic hill is nothing but an optical illusion. Since we had biked here we couldn't test the veracity of the claims! But since it's on the way to the confluence of the Indus and zanskar rivers, it can't hurt much to visit the place.

Its definitely a different kind of experience to see ur four wheeler in neutral climbs an ascend by its own. But it seems like an optical illusion than magnetic effect.
