Holy place for Islam
Sep 2018
You can see great artwork of wooden carving in Shah-e-Hamdan. This is a holy place for Islam. So you can only enter in this building upto some section if you are a Muslim. Backside of this building you can see beautiful Jhelum River.

Kashmiri Islamic heritage
Apr 2019 • Solo
The ancient building depicts a rich Islamic heritage. The details in the interior leaves you mesmerized. The khadems (keepers) are very good in approaching. They even offered me lunch which was delicious. The little boys I met on the premise were so friendly. I felt like being in home. I just love the atmosphere & the good people I've met over there.

A beautiful shrine,must visit

Whenever I visit any mosque,My experience based on deep understanding and real feelings and One has to acknowledge that mosques are famous for their wonderfully designed structures..
I visited,The Khanqah-e-Molla or Shah-e-Hamdan mosque, which is a one of the oldest Muslim shrines located on the banks of the river Jhelum in Srinagar city.

First built in 1395 AD, it is the first oldest mosques in the Kashmir Valley. It is one of the best examples of Kashmiri wooden architecture and Believed to contain "the secret of Allah" - the Khanqah-e-Molla is an excellent example of wood architecture that draws inspiration from Buddhist, Hindu and Islamic styles decorated with papier mache and I love that paper work on the walls. People who love art and culture would love this place..

Jan 2019 • Friends
Its a lovely place, we went there twice both time in the evenings. Serene and massive the interiors are worth studying at leisure. Take your time go there sit and meditate on the beautiful interiors. The external structure is a unique piece of architecture not found elsewhere in India.

Stunning mosque
Sep 2018 • Couples
Serene ancient wooden mosque by the river. As non-Muslims we were welcome to walk around the mosque and view the stunning interior and intricately painted wooden walls.

The building is a beautiful model of wooden architecture of Kashmir, with engravings on walls. The sacred relics include the Prophet's flag, the pillar of the Prophet's tent, and Shah Hamadan's walking stick.
