We stayed on a New Jaqueline Houseboat on the Lake Nigeen and the views were magnificent, magical view of a winter paradise and so peaceful. The lake is so much more tranquil then Dal Lake, less busy. A shikara ride on Lake Nigeen is a...More

Nigeen is clean & better than dal lake. As heard house boats use the same water of lake without filter. But on Nigeen houseboat we found they have separate pipe line for water. On nigeen you have premium houseboats.

Nigeen Lake is much smaller than Dal Lake but if you are a nature lover and like to have a quiet environment, staying in the middle of Nigeen Lake will be a wise choice. Unlike Dal Lake, the number of houseboats here are not crowded...More

A stay in a houseboat on the lake is a must! The calm waters and the beautiful scenery all around are enough to take your breath away!

Our houseboat was on nigeen lake. It is pretty lake with few houseboats. Tip: there are 2-3 shikara rides offered by local people. We took Long one which takes you from Nigeen to Dal lake. That Shikara Ride is too long. You can enjoy shikara...More

The lake is serene, but pollution need to be monitored before the beauty of it is damaged. The local fisherman and villages living on the lake are contributing to the pollution from plastic bags and polystyrene foam boxes.

Nigeen Lake is considered as part of Dal, both being joined with narrow waterway. Less popular and less frequented by tourist, this lake houses most of the luxury house boats. The lake is full of lotus and water Liliey bushes and often you can notice...More

One can be on a Shikara on Nigeen Lake for days. There is an inherent beauty which is difficult to sum up in words.

Because there are lesser houseboats on this lake, the place seems a little bit quieter than the Dal Lake. However, both lakes have a charm of their own. I had gone to meet a friend at this lake and loved the vibes here too.

I prefered Nigeen lake. Mount View house boat run by Ayub Shah was perfect for me as it is in a nice location. Perfect service as well. Choose a houseboat as you can go to a hotel anywhere.
