- Debashis TDehradun, India2,297 contributionsView from the top is fantasticThis is the last garden in otherway from Shalimar and Nishant Garden. On this route there are Nehru Botnical Garden and Chesma shahi. It is a 5 minutes’ drive from Chesma Shahi through a narrow forest road. As the road is behind the Governor’s house, so you have to get down from the cab at one point, frisked and if you have any luggage it will be scanned. Then you can sit and reach Parimahl. It is a 7 terraced garden. Basically ancient mahals at each layer with a little garden. The higher you climb the stiff stairs more is the beauty. Entry ticket is Rs.24/- per person.Visited November 2022Traveled with familyWritten October 27, 2023
- Rohit KhambePune, India15 contributionsLovely garden with great views! This is a short drive from Chesma Shahi garden. I'd suggest to skip Chesma Shahi and visit this garden. There is a bit of walking and climbing involved. If you have senior citizens, would recommend to have them seated at one of the lovely views of the city. The road to this place is narrow and as the number increases, there could be a traffic jam. There's no one to regulate traffic. Go early and visit this place first instead of Chesma Shahi.Visited April 2024Traveled with familyWritten April 27, 2024

The gardens at Pari Mahal compliment the stepped Moghul structure with arches that has formed the backdrop of many Bollywood films. The views from here of the Srinagar valley are stunning and comparable to the Shankaracharya temple views. This place is best to get photos in local costume for its scenic charm and best rate.

Just a garden and nothing else in this place .
You can’t enter inside of the mahal as it is closed for public permanently .
Also , you need to either walk , take a shared taxi or an auto rickshaw to reach here from the main city since private vehicle movements are restricted . I felt it was waste of time and I would say do not bother going there .

This was a surprise. Wonderful garden at different levels amidst ruins. It is lighted up so well at night that from Vivanta it looks like a fortress in the hills. Check out the history of Dara Sikoh and Pari Mahal

This place offers very nice views of Dal lake and sringar from top. It have 3-4 levels and you need to climb up or down. Though each levels do have just 10-12 steps, can be tough for elderly. They can stay at level 0 and watch the view from there. Small garden was also well maintained. If you want to see srinagar from top, do visit this place. It is just 10 min drive from Chashmeshahi-Mughal Garden.

Visited this place on the first day of our Kashmir trip. Its one of the famous tourist attractions in Srinagar. The view from the top is fantastic and you can take lots of photographs with your family and friends. It provide a panoramic view of the city and Dal Lake. Please make sure that you visit this place when the weather is good/morning/evening.

A truly amazing place and the best of all
Mughal gardens. Situated on a height and you can enjoy the lovely drive through the forest area. As all other gardens the entry fee is ₹ 24. It has spectacular views of dal lake and mountains all around. One should visit in the evening to see the amazing colours in the sky. It gives good view of tulip garden and golf course too. The public conveniences at higher level are excellent and deserves praise. You May skip other gardens but not this one. Do visit in evening.

A petite Mughal garden with a vast open 270 degree view of the city and both lakes. Unhurried and not crowded. Absolutely clean. Combines the feel of an old fort with beautiful symmetrical gardens. Many spaces to be by oneself without the noise and bustle of crowds.

Is it safe to visit Srinagar and nearby tourist placs in first week of April for weather point of view
Written March 27, 2016
Hi,
Normally the tourist places you will be visiting are safe so far. If you hire a tourist taxi from good travel agent, the car driver will advice you if there are any weather warning by Met dept - around the places you wish to visit. Happy holidays.

Hi,
I want to know the distance between the pari mahal and dal lake and how to reach there from Dal lake.
Thanks
Written May 4, 2015
from Dal lake,Parimahal is barely few kms. as it depends on which Gate(Ghat)u start from, from farthest it could be 5kms at max. Shankaracharya Hill,Nehru Gardens,Parimahal,Mughal Gardens,Chashma Shahi,Nishat Baag,Shalimar,Tulip Garden, all are on the same road ringing Dal Lake.
