- Amelie9626Cape Town, South Africa1,615 contributionsLovely and picturesqueWonderful though crowded. Lots of locals and tourists both. It was a lovely evening spent in October and we got lucky enough to chat with the gardeners about upcoming suitable plants for the winter season. Highly recommended. Our driver was rushing us so we got less than an hour here, but you could easily relax here and spend a couple of hours contemplating the giant flowers. Clean toilets inside and also a limited cafe where you can get food and tea. The Nishat Shopping Centre right opposite has great food and shopping options.Visited October 2023Traveled with familyWritten October 20, 2023
- Debashis TDehradun, India2,297 contributionsThe biggest of all Moghul garden in SrinagarThe actual name of the garden is Nishat. Out of the four or five gardens in Srinagar, the Nishat Garden and Shalimar Garden are close to each other, and both of these gardens are equally good in size and beauty. The view of Dal Lake from the garden is mesmerizing. This is a huge garden in steps along a waterbody. At every juncture, we will not resist taking take photgraphs. This is the second largest Mughal garden in Kashmir, the first being the Shalimar Garden. The garden has 12 terraces. The best place to take pictures in this garden is on the last three terraces. You can find many Chinar trees all over the garden. There are also a number of shopping stalls in front of the garden, along with food joints.Visited November 2022Traveled with familyWritten October 26, 2023
- Praveen SNoida, India212 contributionsThe only Garden you should visit in SrinagarIf you happen to be in Srinagar during Snowfall, you must go here then. Even if snowfall had happened in last 1-2 days and on a given day, it is a bright sunshine… do plan to visit this garden. You will be mesmerised with the snow capped mountains in the background of this garden and can spent hours just admiring itVisited February 2024Traveled soloWritten February 24, 2024
- Rohit KhambePune, India15 contributionsPlace to sit and relax with faimlyLovely place, this should ideally be your last spot on the Srinagar itinerary. Unlike other gardens, you can sit in the garden, don't forget to carry your own mats (Chatai). We went on Sat and could see lot of locals in the garden enjoying with family. The place also offers great views of the Dal lake. There's a section near the toilets which has high Chinaar trees. Absolutely lovely area and less crowded. The lonely bench makes for a great picture.Visited April 2024Traveled with familyWritten April 27, 2024
- Let's Go SightseeingNoida, India2,910 contributions‘the garden of bliss’The Bagh was built in the 17th century. It has 12 terraces representing the 12 zodiac signs. The terraces are filled with geraniums, roses etc. It has a Mughal central water channel with fountains, surrounded by Chinar trees. The Nishat Bagh is delightful, photogenic & surreal. When we visited, the Sun was climbing the sky. It was already warm, but the flowers & greenery proved to be soothing to the eyes. We also got ourselves clicked in the traditional Kashmiri attire at Nishat Bagh. You may find quite a bit of crowd here. You can get a spectacular sunset view of the Dal Lake.Visited August 2023Traveled with friendsWritten May 24, 2024
- Xerxes RaveBengaluru, India114 contributionsScenic and RelaxedHousing Kashmir’s Heritage tree, a 300 year old Chinar. The garden is well worth your evening time. With a variety of flowers (dominated by roses in all shades) - this place is an excellent spot to just relax among nature. While it does get crowded in the evening there are plenty of spots to sit and enjoy under the trees. Please note : No shades are there, and it would get very sunny during day time.Visited May 2024Traveled as a coupleWritten May 28, 2024

But again there were ni signages to explain the various levels, and the structure. But was a good experience.Visited August 2024Traveled with familyWritten August 12, 2024

It is well maintained and it is best to visit the same in summer. In autumn/winter one can skip it. However, the view from the 3rd last pier of the stepping garden levels and the central vista overlooking DAL is beautiful and worth it.

Well suppose to be one of the must sight seeing place in Srinagar, but seems it has lost its charm.
Though you will get good locations to click pics (worth it) found lots of locals coming for a picnic and eating food, that is best to do but please avoid smoking.
Tourist please avoid walking in the fountain and areas where the flowers are being sowed.
Information:
Entry fees INR 24 per person,
Not sure if they have proper bathroom

It is a typical Mughal garden close to the dal lake. Outside the garden is a big market and many eateries. There a few steps first to approach the garden. There are central sequential fountains and on the sides are flowers and lawns. It is very scenic as on one side you have the dal lake and back side you have lovely mountains. It provides good photographic opportunity. They charge ₹ 24 per adult entry. Overall a good place to visit in Srinagar.

Since it was march, the flowers were being planted and not in bloom. Hence the garden appeared very average. Locals were thronging the gardens with families for picnic carrying Home made lunches and coupled with tourists hence was crowded.
there is no information available out the garden and its construction except a small worn out sign board.
