- Priti TurakhiaMumbai, India59 contributionsAn 'Out of the world' Experience at the Tulip Garden in SrinagarI visited the garden today. There is an outstanding display of Tulips. A very rare experience for us in India where tulips don't grow in most parts. The gardens are beautifully maintained and I saw wheelchairs taking people around too. Kudos to the authorities for managing such an amazing feat. I would urge everyone to visit this garden in time to see the tulips blooming.Visited April 2024Traveled soloWritten April 3, 2024
- labalChennai (Madras), India367 contributionsLovely tulips on displayAmazing collection of tulips and a few other varieties of flowers. Heavy rains played spoilsport in the last two days of March 2024, but the garden is simply awesome. Worth spending at least a couple of hours here. With the mountains in the backdrop and some fountains too, the garden is too good. Open during spring for about three weeks every year, it is a great attraction.Visited March 2024Traveled soloWritten April 3, 2024
- kapilranganBengaluru, India152 contributionsSimply beautiful! The tulip garden is a must visit place in Srinagar. It opens for about a month, from March to April. Tulips of all colors are lined up in symmetric rows, making it a beautiful sight! There is a fairly long walk from the car park to the entrance gate, but wheelchairs are available for senior citizens. The entrance fee is 75 per head and totally worth it. Best to visit in the mornings.Visited April 2024Traveled with familyWritten April 27, 2024

- ArunvermaAmritsar, India2,493 contributionsAn absolutely Fantastic ExperienceA very beautiful garden . We three couples flew from Amritsar to Srinagar on 27/3/24 just to visit the Tulip garden, after consulting my hosts in Srinagar because this year because of the unpredictable winters ,the opening of the garden got delayed by almost 10 days. There was a very heavy rush in the garden. The entry fees is 74 Rs per person, but we had got VIP Passes. Spent a couple of hours there. Indira Gandhi Memorial Tulip garden, previously Model Floriculture Center, is a Tulip garden in Srinagar. It is the largest tulip garden in Asia spread over an area of about 30 ha (74 acres). It is situated at the base of the Zabarwan range, built on a sloping ground in a terraced fashion consisting of seven terraces with an overview of the Dal Lake. The garden was opened in 2007 with the aim to boost floriculture and tourism in the Kashmir Valley. It was formerly known as Siraj Bagh.About 1.7 million tulip bulbs, all in multiple colours, were brought from tulip gardens of Amsterdam.Besides tulips, there are 46 varieties of flowers, including hyacinths, daffodils, ranunculus, and pansies which were also brought from Holland. The tulip garden is home to around 73 varieties of tulips. Completely mesmerized. Clicked many photosVisited March 2024Traveled as a coupleWritten May 21, 2024
- Luxe Travel ManagementNew Delhi, India990 contributionsMust Visit GardenTulip Garden in Srinagar is a breathtaking experience that truly showcases the beauty of nature. Spanning across lush landscapes, the garden bursts into color each spring with a stunning array of tulips in various shades. The vibrant flowers, set against the backdrop of the majestic Himalayas, create a picturesque setting that feels almost surreal. The well-maintained paths make it easy to wander and take in the beauty, while the scent of blooming flowers is delightful. It's a perfect spot for photography, picnics, or simply soaking in the tranquility of the surroundings. The best time to visit is during the Tulip Festival, when cultural performances and local crafts add to the vibrant atmosphere. However, even outside the festival, the garden is a peaceful retreat. Overall, Tulip Garden is a must-visit for anyone in Srinagar, offering a unique glimpse into the region's natural beauty and horticultural richness. Whether you're a nature lover or just looking for a serene place to relax, it’s an unforgettable experience.Visited March 2024Traveled with friendsWritten October 23, 2024

situated at the foothills of Zabarwan Range, Overlooking the iconic Dal Lake, the garden is opened in 2007. It is encircled by Nishat Bagh and Chashma Shahi Garden from three sides and also you can Pari Mahal from the park.
Time: this is imp as it's not open for a whole year. The period from late March to April end is considered as the best time to visit the garden. Every year in the month of April, the Jammu Kashmir government celebrates the Tulip Festival in which tourists can enjoy breathtaking views of the gardens at their full bloom.
It is south Asia’s largest Tulip festival that has been named after the Indian PM, the late Indira Gandhi (Donno why..). This Festival displays a large variety of tulips and boasts 60 varieties of multi-colored tulips. It resembles a beautiful carpet that has hundreds of colors and provides a heavenly view to the thousands of visitors, national and international. Around 2 million tulip bulbs bloom here and proudly display their beauty to tourists.
it also feature a number of cultural programs, the sale of local handicrafts, Kashmiri folk songs, and other forms of arts.
Other sorts of facilities (washroom and all) are there too.
Open Hours: 9 am to 7 pm Mon-Sun.
Entry Fee: INR 118 for adults and yes Mask is mandatory...

I booked ticket earlier at the end of March but after considering review in changed to 1st week of April, and it wise decision because flowers were bloomed completely. Only weather was not good, very cloudy and little showering so it made very chilled. I didn't find flowers might be 1.5 millions but really flowers are very nice and colourful. They taken very hard work to maintain garden. Tickets were not so much. Rs. 59 per adult. Washroom facility is also available down to garden. Must visit once so if you plan trip by the end of March or April first week, you get summer, winter, rain, flowers, every location proper snow, greenery, flowin Grover, etc basically I think it is only the best time anyone wants to enjoy everything.

We were lucky enough to visit tulip garden, as it had opened during last day of our visit to Srinagar in March, 23. The garden is beautiful, large tulip flowers of different colours. One can only experience it, very difficult to describe. Must visit if you are in Srinagar at the right time.

The flowers are a welcome change when come to all else. About 10 shades of tulips planted in long 50-75 m bed’s alternatively. Aimless and noisy crowds, and hardly any guidance or crowd management.
Nice but there is a lot of room for improvement

Well it’s worth a visit if you could beat the crowd. Watching so many pretty flowers , all layered together in colourful rows is quite a sight.. the garden is well maintained with benches to rest and relax. We visited in early April. Made a good decision to reach early around 8.30-9, this helped to beat the heat and crowds.. avoid Sundays as the locals also visit on public holidays.

It is one of the best flower festivals hosted in India in the first 3 weeks of April every year. After several years of planning and wait, we finally witnessed the extravagant display of colourful tulips in this sprawling garden, just in the foothills of the Taj Hotel. It is advisable to go early in the morning before 10am if you wish to avoid the crowd and car traffic. Carry a good camera for loads of pics!

What more to ask for? The garden was so colourful, well maintained and the tulips at its best...so many shades of tulips. The tulips were jn full bloom along with the cherry blossom and many other colourful trees. One wouldnt stop clicking pictures. The mountains in the backdrop and colourful garden in its lap, what a combination. We went there very early to avoid crowd, and it does get more crowded on weekend, no parking is also available if you go late. One needs to walk 500 mts from parking to reach the garden.

Nice garden. Well maintained. Do not miss this Tulip Garden if you visit Srinagar, Kashmir. Tulips are available during April month only. Entry fee is Rs. 50 for adults and Rs. 25 for children. One can enjoy Asia's largest tulip festival here during the month of April and May. Come to this place, enjoy color and greenery. Do have enough memory space on your camera.

We had chosen the wrong time to visit. Due to the extreme weather the place was partially covered in sno and was looking beautiful as such. The right time as mentioned by the locals there was the time between March and August
