Dear , in January the snow fall is mostly anticipated in the higher reaches of Katra and the bhavan mostly remains covered with the white blanket. Now as far as the bathing for ladies is concerned there is a sarai just before the Bhavn with hot water facility , the ladies can take bath there. You have to take along rain and snow proof warm stuff which will keep you warm specially for children. The attendance during the month is not that much so you will not encounter much crowds. If you maintain the pace you can visit Bharav Ghati and return to Ardkuvari on the same day.
Am planning to travel with wife to Vaishno Devi Mandir and thereafter to Kashmir in mid of august. Require ur suggestions : 1. Whether August month is good for both trips. 2. Whether 1 week is sufficient for covering both the locations. 3. If u can suggest good hotels in Katra and kashmir

Hii.. August is a hioh peak season in kashmir due to Amarnath Yatra. As it rains in Katra too, it is a risky time to walk till Bhavan for Yatra due to occasional landslides. Yes Kashmir is beautiful in August too, but if you are comfortable with the hoards to tourists then go ahead with your plans. Good Luck
