Very old ancient temple with its own rich history. Situated b/w a forest, well maintained even after hundreds of tourists turning up each day to seek Hidimba mata blessings.
Queues to get inside can be pretty long someday, from inside it looks like an ancient cave structure.
Not to miss if you are in Manali or haven’t been there before, located well in the heart of manali, more closer to Old Manali area.

Its better to park your car at Mall road parking lot and take auto to this temple as road is narrow and steep where descending local cabbies create challenge. The parking lot is congested and limited.

The temple is surrounded with tall pine and deodhar trees which is sight to behold. The temple is old and it feels like entering different era when one is inside.

There is Veer Ghatatkoch temple (a tree) which is at walkable distance from Hidimba temple. The walks will take you through place where there are some activites like yak photoshoot, Himachali dress photo shoot etc.

Paid washroom facility is available near temple.

It is one of the famous tourist attractions in Manali. You can cover it along with the visit to Manali market. The place is peaceful and ideal if you want to just sit and enjoy the calmness of the place. There are small shops nearby to buy local stuffs, few eateries and there is also an adventure activity spot opposite to temple.

Only reason I visited it was because as a 12 year old kid I refused to go in without my shoes. It was cold that time.

30 year old me now thinks I didn't miss much at all.

So place is covered with greenery which is typical Himachal for you. It's good looking structure and quite ancient is want I was made to believe.

I kept my shoe in the rack and went in. You just need to bend down while entering because the door is just 4 feet tall I suppose. And there it is. The deity!

Around temple you would find folks giving you pictures opportunity with yak and rabbits. Some shooting games were there as well.

Oh BTW ... you can either take the road to reach here or stairs. In my opinion stairs were much worse because it kills the breath in you. I'm not from plain region so for my body to breath in hills anyways is a add on task and if you add stairs to it. Dear lord!

The whole temple is surrounded by huge tall trees which is so photogenic and peaceful. The aura of the place is very calm and you can sit and relax amidst nature. Temple of Goddess Hidimba Devi is one of most visited places of Manali. Worship pray and relax.

There are 2 ways to enter to this temple. One way a few steps needs to be on foot on the way up . Very old structure made of rock and wood combination. Needs to be cautious if you want to go inside this temple- mind your head and steps. This place is surrounded by greenery and trees . Pay & use toilet are also there as well

We had visited the temple in the morning, our start of the day with this point as it was closer to our resort as well. Nice place to visit & holy temple of hadimba devi. Surrounding of temple was big enough, having lot of activities for tourists by local people like: Animals were available for short time like big Rabbits, small sheeps, big YAK for a ride & so on. Other activities like: himachal dresses available for rent, photographer's & many more.
We had spent good time here, in case you have 2-3 hours you can easily spend here.
Definitely a nice place to visit.

Hidimba Devi Temple also called Dhungari Temple, locally. Visit the 1553 CE architecture attached with the mythologies and tales. Visit for worship. The place is good to spend time peacefully. Weekends are crowded. Prefer weekdays. There are 2 entrances for the premises. Opt for the one with ramp rather than the stairs if you have old aged visitors with you.

This is an iconic temple where the shooting of Yeh Jawani Hai Dewani has taken place. And that is the reason the place is so much crowded. They are so many people there who come to you and say ‘Kesar Loge kya?’ in a very suspicious way which is very funny.
The place is really beautiful and there are people who rent traditional himachaly clothes to try and take pictures.

Old wooden temple, nestled in cedar forest. It’s beautiful in every sense of the word. Visit early in day. We went at 8:00am. Later in day it turns to a typical touristy circus ! Spend time looking at trees around and just walking on stone walkways. Do visit for the sheer beauty and calmness of the place.
