The temple is located in hills hence one need to drive uphill through some narrow and steep roads going through busy market. There are private parking facility near temple who charges Rs.100 per car. The views from the parking spot are amazing.

The temple has some beautiful wooden architecture. There are some hot water springs beside this temple where one can take a bath. There is separate entries for ladies and gents.

Outside the temple you will get many ladies carrying Himalayan rabbit who tends to keep them in your hands for Rs.20. You can click the photo with rabbit.

There are many hotels and small shops lined on the road. I would suggest to visit here in morning hours to escape the clutch burning due to local cabbie traffic and jaywalker tourist.

This place is about 5.5 kilometers from Mall Road in Manali. We went there walking - along the Leh Manali highway and then taking a right detour for the final 2 odd kms.
The Vashisht village is great, away from the hustle-bustle of Manali. there are a few good hotels too. As for the temple, it is located on one end of the village and is the center of activity. The temple has a hot water spring for men. Just outside the temple, there is a separate enclosure for women. There is one more about 20 meters away from the temple for men. Come here in the morning and you will see the village folks coming to the springs for their daily baths. There are a number of taps outside the temple with hot water. You will find many people washing their clothes etc near the taps.
We spent a couple of hours in the village mostly around the temple, soaking in the atmosphere.

A 300 years old temple dedicated to sage Vashisth in a hot springs bath complex. Not much by way of attraction, unless you have never visited a hot spring spot earlier. Baths for males and females are separated and private. But a word of caution for women - entry not permitted during menstruation.

It’s natural hot springs, believed to be holy water. It was nice experience to take dip in warm water at such whether at around 5 degrees. Besides temple is nicely wooden carved and you can do some street shopping on the way to temple.

Temple is situated at a hill top and famous for the hot water springs. There are separate bathing places for men and women in the temple pond .Roads are very narrow and traffic jams during peak tourist season is common .

Visited this historical place with friends in last year. During our visit, Temple renovation work is going on. There is a natural ‘Hot Water Kund’ to bath. There is also another two-three small temple to visit. Parking is available there which is half km away from main temple.

hi.., while you walk uphill to vasisht temple you will find lot of shop ppl asking to take a look at Sparu blanket. mind you there is no such thing as chingu or sparu. After you get into the shop they will tell good story on sparu as it is an small animal on verge on extinction. the fur of this imaginary animal is cut only once and blankets are made out of it. they charge you 10k for the the blanket on lease basis for an year along with 5 gift item.

Be aware! don't get cheated..!

The temple is beautiful and serene. But everyone needs to watch out for the cheats selling Sparu blankets inside and outside the temple.

We visited one such shop after consistent nagging of the shop owner. This shop is located inside the premises of Vashisht temple which came some assurance that it must be authentic. Also the shopkeeper showed us certificate from Govt of J&K. The shop name is JAI KABIR HANDLOOM HOUSE.

Sparu is sold in form of a package starting from 8k to 22 k. The package comes with few gifts called as freebies and a guarantee of Sparu return back after 2 years of use and refund of 75% of original value.

We also fall prey to the scam and ordered a Sparu package. We paid 3k for deposit as asked and rest on arrival. WE NEVER GOT THE SPARU, after numerous calls and running around.

Whoever is travelling to Manali or Vashist Temple. DO NOT FALL PREY TO THIS SCAM. THE SHOW INSIDE TEMPLE PREMISES IS FAKE.

One important information for all travelers in shimla kullu manali, kashmir, mountabu.
please don't purchase any suparu rajai which made by chingu animal feather.
there are may shopkeepres near about vashist temple in manali. all are cheated to customers.they will forced to visitors to come inside in shop and told the all story of suparu rajai and give free 6 gifts with a master peice.and said this master peice we are giving you on rent. and take return after 21 months and return 75 % of your purchasin cost.

total story of shopkeepers is fraud. no will come after 2 years or 5 years for returning master item of rajai.
