When we went, the river was flooded.. and the sky was cloudy ... very beautiful and calm.. this is a small town.. nothing much to do here.. however the road to tattapani is very beautiful and offers awesome sights.. almost 50 minutes drive from Naldehra.. saw a lot of signage for rafting.. not sure that would happen when the river... Although a tiring and long journey but upon reaching the small town of tattapani all that vanished as we stayed in Hotel hot springs which apart from its xclnt location had a very good property made. Stayed for 4 nights and were confined to hotel activities be it their ayurvedic massage n spa to children activities right from the sulphur... More

Yes, it is true that due to the dam the water stream has become minimal and the name tattapani (hot water) has lost its meaning now. However the view is scenic and beauty beholds in the eye of beholder.

Tattapani is no longer a destination for natural hot springs. After the dam has been built there is no sulphur water pond left. If you plan to go then please stay at Naldera. The rafting is also okay and not that great due to the dam.

The Satluj rapids here are very average, but the views while rafting are very nice. The rafting cost pp ranges from Rs 500 to 1,000, depending on your negotiation skills. The hot springs in Hotel Hot Springs are worth it at Rs 350 pp (or Rs 200 pp for residents of their sister concern New Spring View guest house) or... More

There is no hot water springs or sort of. The only best thing is Rafting in Sutlej river. Negotiate with the people offering this. Don't ask for individual rafts as this is expensive than the one with a mix crowd. Most often, during off-peak season, you negotiate for a mix crowd rafts and due to lack of people they offer... ABOUT Tattapani: Couple of hours drive out of Shimla, descending via SH13, you reach this quiet place on the banks of Satluj river. Hotter than Shimla due to low altitude. Commercially, it's just a small village with couple of hotels, few restaurants / dhabas, few shops, and one bus stand. ATM's may or may not be available / functional. STAY:... More
