I visited this place on May-2016. There is lots fun over their. I think if you want to visit Rohtang Pass then take permit before one day. Manali to Rohtang Pass there’s an amazing transformation in the landscape.

My review as follows:- Avoid during snowfalls. Avoid during rainfall. Take permit ONLINE on HPTDC website. Only 400 vehicles allowed per day. Special precaution for Asthma patients because very Low oxygen. Hire a Taxi with experienced driver. Or Hire Bike from Manali.

Excellent place. One must visit in the life time. The roads are excellent nowadays till the top. Still advised to take local and experienced drivers. Go, sit, relax and chill in the cold wind.

It will be raining here and the snow will be melting. You could not enjoy the landscapes as well as the weather remains foggy. But if you want to experience a different sense of adventure, you are of course welcome

You can drive all the way to Leh if you wish to. The permit is required only to limit the number of vehicles going to Rohtang from Manali for environmental concerns.
