I have been to Chokhi Dhani couple of times but apart from weekends this place is deserted.
The food & the performances inside are good.

Do check on various deals on deal grabbing sites as this place keeps on having online offers.

Place is good to be with family particularly with kids. As the place have lot of things for the kids in addition to the delicious Rajisthani food viz Puppet shows, Magic show Traditional dances and snake charmers, bull cart rides camel rides etc...

Only the thing which I didn't like was staff was looking for tip on every account.

I went to chokhi dhani in April 2022, to celebrated my daughter’s birthday. We were 8 persons. The place was not worth to go, specially the food was not delicious and not even fresh.the person who put Mehndi , head massage and astrologer was not there. Each ticket was of 800 rs, for which the place was not worth to go.

Chokhi Dhani is located on Zirakpur Shimla Road at Amravati Enclave in Panchkula. The place is typical presentation of Rajasthani culture, life, food. Staff wearing colourful Rajasthani dress, Huts in typical Rajasthani style, Rajasthani music dance and food really make your day memorable. Food is delicious and served in typical Rajasthani style.

This was my second visit to this place and my experience rating went from 4.5 to 0.5!

Reasons:

1. The prices have been increased from Rs. 400 to Rs. 450 per person without any improvements in any kind of facilities or entertainment of any sort.

2. Since 28.04.2013, they started a new concept - that of Royal Thali. Absolute fraud! If you buy a royal thali, you pay Rs. 550 and the only thing that changes is that you sit at tables for dinner where you are served exactly the same food that was served to you in normal thali earlier. No changes whatsoever. What's the point? Sitting on chowkis and eating was a part of the experience and these people apparently don't understand that.

Thinking that we get way too much food in normal thali itself, we bought the normal ticket for Rs. 450 each. When we went for food we were told to go to hall on the 1st floor as the hall on the ground floor was now reserved for royal thali tickets. So we went upstairs and the little corner between the elevator and door to the hall was packed with more than 60 people who were apparently waiting for 30 minutes or so to get in while the hall on the ground floor sat empty. My question - if you cant manage things, then why start a discriminatory practice? This place is all about the village kind experience and by mismanagement, they just ruined the evening for us. Even when we converted outre tickets into Royal Thali ones, we were told to wait outside for 15 minutes despite the fact that the entire place was empty except for 2 tables. Their excuse - they didn't have enough people to serve.

I had taken my relatives there as they were visiting from the US and would have liked the experience. But even though they liked the entertainment bit and the feel of the place outdoors, the dinner experience left a bad taste in the mouth and this was definitely my last visit there.

We two couples visited CHOKHI DHANI, PANCHKULA yesterday. They are charging 450/- per person as entry fees, which is supposed to include everything inside.Inside on arrival WATERY & TASTELESS ZALZEERA is served (no boondi in it). They are charging for rides, snacks etc. The food at dinner was cold and tasteless. The staff wore dirty dress, were untrained , shabby personal hygiene, and more intrested in TIPS. Food preparation was far below expected standards, tasteless and cold. This resort seems to be fleecing VISITORS in all aspect and ruining the BRAND NAME of CHOKHI DHANI. Will suggest NOT to VISIT it, instead go to CHOKHI DHANI, GANNAUR, much better than this.

One of the few places where you can take a breather and let your kids go mad.. the lay out is nice and enough activities to keep all ages occupied.. Bit expensive though however you got to pay for quality... the food was nice they make you sit on the floor in the traditional way with the Rajasthani turban and all (photo opportunity) ..

Ample parking space the biggest issue in around CHD these days..

Date of Visit: 31st Mar 2013

Fees: 400 INR (adult entry, inclusive of a buffet type of dinner served there at 7pm)

This is a village resort near the amravati enclave (watch out for the blue/green poster near the area - see my photo) which is along the highway.

+ points:
(1) The place is quite large and beautiful, great for photo enthusiasts. I would suggest going at about 5.30pm so that there is sufficient time to take nice pictures before it gets dark because I felt the photos look lovelier at that time.

(2) There are many activities there to entertain every one - puppet show, acrobat, henna, magician, various rides on animals (though I think these cost money), bioscope, dance/music performances, games (seems to be free to play). Great place to go for families with young kids.

(3) The dinner there is served free flow where the helpers will serve you a huge variety of delicacies and I enjoyed most of what they served.

- points:
(1) It was a bit difficult to find the place.

(2) Perhaps it might be a little bit difficult to go back if you didn't come in a car because I didn't seem to see any autorickshaws there. You could probably just call a cab though.
