A couple of things that one should keep in mind before visiting this museum- 1.Unlike the usual museums that one is accustomed to visiting, this one doesn't allow visitors to roam around freely and check out the parts that may seem more interesting to the person. Fantastic museum with loads of wonderful artefacts and magnificient textiles from Gujarat and India. Guide visit in English that you have t obook ahead on their site. We were lucky to visit it in a very smal group (4 people). Worth setting aside half a day for it.

This place will be paradise for a person who is interested in textile or belongs to textile industry.The Museum has many things related to textile products.Overall,It was a memorable visit.

This place has an amazing collection of textiles, paintings and antique artifacts. It is owned by the Sarabhai family who allow the general public to visit the museum to see the wonderful collection. Once upon a time...there was a world famous Calico mill....this museum is belong to that Sarabhai family...it is an unique museum of different clothes of the world....it is a very peaceful place...they allow only 15 people in a guided tour....so reach in time at 10.30 in the morning. ...if you want to know about clothes. ..it is a must visit... Hi all, I would like to share my experience visiting calico museum. It requires prior booking and cost no fees. I visited there with my mother and wife. You absolutely must visit this museum when coming to Ahmedabad. It is important to know though that you must make a reservation to go.

It is an amazing museum and we were very lucky as you need to book months in advance and only a small group is taken in the tours twice a day. I would recommend booking as soon as you know you may visit. We did not thinking we would get access but it was in our destiny and I loved... More
